Was poor sausages were burnt, bacon was hard and eggs were not cooked to my expectations

My colleague stayed at this hotel for work for 2 nights. To say she was absolutely appalled by the cleanliness and standard of it is an understatement. While the outside of the property looked lovely, upon arrival to the room, it was abundantly clear that the room has not been cleaned. There were stains on the toilet, dust on almost every surface and hairs which she has found on both the toilet and the bed! The bedside table also had stains on top of it and what looked like splashes all down it. On the second day of the stay, she came back into the room after work and both her shower, and her toilet have been used in her absence! When she brought this to the attention of the receptionist at the end of her stay, the receptionist almost shrugged it off and said "Oh we thought there was a leak in your shower" but prior to this she wasn’t notified of anyone entering her room while she was away and it didn’t explain why her toilet was used too! My colleague also got ready in that bathroom the same morning and had stayed there for a night already and the shower didn’t even drip. The receptionist didn't care about my colleagues complaints and brushed them off. The breakfast was no better, the jars holding what little cereal they has were dirty and covered in what looked like oily smudges, the eggs on toast she ordered were stale and hard and they hadn’t asked her if she wanted her toast buttered and went ahead and did it- she is a vegan and doesn’t eat butter. Overall she is booked into this room for one more night as we cannot get a refund but the stay was absolutely awful and wouldn't recommend it to anybody! You're better off at the Travelodge across the street. We are a business who have a site nearby and when we find a nearby gem we spend a lot of money on these hotels... this will not be one of them and we will not be sending any more colleagues here. For £260 for 2 nights, it was tragic.

I would have liked a kettle it Was a pain waiting to use coffee machine for years water every time and soft pillows rather than bolsters style the room was exceeding hot not enough ventilation. The two small fans were man enough.

Maybe have breakfast included.

Very friendly staff . The building was lovely . Room was clean and good size . The balcony and pool were both appreciated to combat the heat

To ventilate the room needed to open all windows during night so it was very noisy but this was exceptionally hot weather and would not put us off returning
