Excellent value for money. The rooms were basic and a little older, but very clean and excellent value for money.

It was all perfect for a one night stay before heading off for a hike. Lovely coffee and breakfast.

This hotel is in an old, authentic building right in the heart of Muehlbach, near the motorway and on the road to Pustertal. If you're not cash-strapped and just passing through, then this might be right place for you, especially if you don't mind being on a loud, busy road with lots of lorries on it. The service is good, the breakfast was good, everything was clean. The windows are possible to fully open, and plenty of parking right outside.

Unfortunately, the old village of Muehlbach is in itself a sad place, as it was clearly transformed in the 1970s from a quaint, quiet place to a busy thoroughfare -- much of its charm destroyed. There is a busy bypass, but nevertheless there are many lorries and other vehicles driving non-stop along the road through the village, right past this hotel. Even with the window closed, it's quite loud. Sleeping with the window open is just about impossible unless you can sleep through loud traffic noise. There is a petrol station right across the road, partially obstructing the otherwise OK view out to rolling hills and forests on the other side of the valley. If you are looking for a quiet, authentic mountain town to stay in, this is not for you. The prices of accommodation in this area are all outragous, but if your goal is to pass through and stay near the motorway -- there must be something cheaper -- especially south of Bolzano.
