This BnB is amazing! Great location, quiet, picturesque and the hosts went out of their way to make our stay great. The food was fabulous. We would highly recommend!

Mary and Tim are wonderful hosts. They are very attentive and went out of their way to make sure we had all that we need for a great experience in Taupo. We loved the breakfast - among the BEST we have had at a BnB.

Perfect B&B / accommodation option in the area. Location is ideal and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Mary & Tim were wonderful hosts with a wealth of knowledge and thoughtful touches and tips really enhanced our stay!

"Fantastic boutique bed and breakfast with lovely hosts"

The Olive Rabbit is a fantastic boutique B&B run by owners Mary and Tim, who create a home-away-from-home for their guests with ease. Impeccable service, very nice rooms (all ensuite), tips for activities and restaurants, great packed lunches and very, very good breakfasts. All of the above at great prices. We would have happily stayed much longer!

We liked everything about the Olive Rabbit and highly recommend it. The Tongariro crossing was closed due to the weather during our visit and hence we may have to return in the future!

Mary and Tim were excellent hosts! We felt so cared for during our stay. Mary and Tim greeted us warmly, they helped us organize our hikes in advance, they checked weather conditions for us, and they prepared incredible meals for us. Traveling as a vegan isn't always easy but they adjusted their menu for me and it was delicious! We will also never forget opening the lunches they packed for our us during a very challenging hike and finding encouraging hand-written notes. The property has gorgeous gardens and our rooms were charming. We were sad to leave and hope to stay again!

While our rooms were very clean and still comfortable, some might find that the rooms could use a bit of an update if they prefer more modern accommodations.

Excellent food. One lunch for our hike was enough for both of us since the prepared breakfast was also a large portion. Hot tub was a bonus.
