Olive Rabbit - Boutique Bed & Breakfast

A perfect place to stay for those attempting the Tongariro crossing. Mary and Tim made us fresh breakfast roles and a delicious pack up as well as lots of good advice. The hot tub in a secluded part of the garden was much needed for sore limbs- and we enjoyed watching the wag tails. And our cooked breakfast on the second day when we weren’t up at the crack of dawn also delicious. We enjoyed sitting on our little veranda area of the garden. We even loved the shower gel. Such helpful hosts. We can’t recommend it enough. We wish we’d stayed one day longer.

Easy to find in a perfect location - plenty of parking. Our room was spacious & cool with a ceiling fan and a terrace with table & chairs. Plenty of tea & coffee & a fabulous NZ style breakfast with lots of choice & a huge pot of tea ❤️ Tim & Mary were fabulous hosts - welcoming, professional with lots of tips for the local area - esp helpful when it rained. We loved staying here & would also strongly recommend the Hare & Copper for dinner ❤️

Mary and Tim’s bed and breakfast was exceptional! Their picturesque countryside home, warm hospitality, and delicious food made our stay unforgettable. Mary’s expert guidance on daily itineraries was invaluable, helping us fully enjoy the area. We highly recommend staying here!

It’s a small, cozy, beautiful place. Very quiet and clean. With an amazing breakfast. The owners-Mary and Tim are like parents. Very caring, super kind, always ready to help. One day i didn’t have a time to eat breakfast, so they gave me a breakfast and a lunch with me to go. Amazing place and a wonderful people. Truly recommend to everyone.

This gem of a B&B seems like it was taken directly from a cozy murder mystery--at least before any of the mayhem starts! Beautiful flower gardens, soft carpets, china tea sets, and warmth abound, as does friendly conversation with the very affable proprietor and proprietress. Make the Olive Rabbit a stop on your next visit to NZ!

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely quiet area. Mary and Jim really make you feel at home and go out of their way to make for a truly wonderful and memorable stay. The breakfast is sensational. Advice for other travelers is even if you’re not doing a hike, tell them that you are just to get the packed lunch with the best sandwich on the planet!
