SpringHill Suites Kansas City Airport

This location does not answer their phones. I’ve called three times at 8:50pm on 23 June and have been calling for 10 minutes to reach the front desk. Eventually the line hung up. Unacceptable for a Marriott property. Please answer your phones.

I experienced some issues during my 3 night stay. No Hot Water or Water Pressure at 12 O'clock (Noon). I needed to get ready for a business meeting after going for a morning hike. Maintenance told me that I would need to change rooms but the issues as wider spread than just my room after further investigations. I had to leave to make my meeting without a shower. Next issue, the elevator was taken out of service a fire drill. No notice was given except for a printed notice at the front desk. I had to carry my luggage and work material (Product Demo, Literature) down 4 flights of stairs since I need to make my flight out. Maintenance came fast and was responsive when I reported the issues. I was not impressed by the Front Desk's response when I reported the elevator were not working. Housekeeping on the 4th floor wasn't even aware of the Fire Drill and that the elevators were inoperable. I travel a lot and normally stay at Marriott properties. Most hotels will notify you when they have a planned fire drill. What is someone was experiencing a medical emergency. I never received a survey from the Marriott on this stay as I normally do. Breakfast was good. Workout room and pool were clean. Parking was easy and at no charge.

Narrow walkways in the room, but overall it was great.

Hotel was nice enough, biggest issues were that when going to shower at 7 am, there was no hot water in our first floor room. Not at the shower or the sink. When the handle was moved all the way to hot it was barely warm and then the water pressure dropped off. Looks like the heating water system is undersized for the demand of the building. The breakfast was not very good, eggs were from a box, sausage was cold and dry, coffee was below par. I've stayed at many Bonvoy hotels, including Springhill Suites and this was the worst experience by far.

I stayed here before when I flew home for a funeral. This trip was for a birthday and was disappointing. I notified the hotel I would be arriving after midnight and to hold my room. My flight was delayed 2 hrs and I got to the hotel to find they had given our room away half the family slept on the floor because we got 1 bed instead of 2 queens. Debating if staying here in Aug is worth the gamble
