The Orchid Lonavala

Breakfast was good. Room was spacious. Staff were helpful and friendly. All the amenities provided in the room were decent.

One slipper in the room would have been good. 1st day wifi gave us lot of trouble after 2-3 complaints it was fixed.

Location

AC was leaking water, bathroom door was hard to close, flush was broken, room had the moist smell as if not used for months. We checked out a day early but they did not give us the refund stating we need to inform 48 hours prior. Whereas cancellation was mentioned free while booking.

Stay was calm and pleasant.

“Lonavala is always beautiful during the rains, but the hotel could have done more to handle the damp, rainy odor indoors. It affected the otherwise pleasant stay.”

Cleanliness and staff behaviour.

Food options were limited. Dinner that we had was a fixed menu to chose from. This should be mentioned in the details while booking. Even breakfast spread was limited with bakery items not very fresh. Games zone was not maintained at all. Felt like it was a bunker.

* No valet parking facility, which is surprising for a 4-star hotel. * No bell boy available to carry luggage; reception staff informed this service is not provided. * Bathroom is too small in proportion to the room. * Hair dryer was non-functional during our stay. * No doormat at the room entrance – quite inconvenient during rainy season when guests return wet from outdoor activities like waterfalls. * Dustbins are open and lack lids – not very hygienic, especially in the bathroom area.
