1. The location of the apartment is excellent ... very near Ribeira 2. The view from the living room is spectacular ... the River Douro. 3. The size of the aprtment is spacious (though see below).

Our apartment was on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator in the building. The stairway had wide gaps between the steps, making it a potential hazard for anyone. The apartment is clearly not suitable for elderly people or mobility challenged people. Interestingly, the door lacked traditional handles; it could only be opened using the key inserted into the lock. Inside, there was also no door handle, which was puzzling and seemed like a basic oversight. The apartment felt outdated and there are safety related issues. SAFETY Related: 1. The “2nd bedroom” is a loft with a low ceiling with a steep ladder to access it. The ladder has no safety handrail. With the low ceiling in the loft, one is bound to hit the wooden beam several times. 2. There is a step right outside the bedroom. If one has to step out to use the bathroom, be aware; I almost tripped and fell as it is so easy to miss the step in the dark. 3. The tub surround for the bathtub is very tall to get in and out. The bathtub itself is very slippery and poses a serious risk. UNACCEPTABLE: The bathroom water heater did not work well for the entirety of our stay. The water turned cold after 5 - 7 minutes and the 2nd and the 3rd person had to take a cold shower; when the temperature was in single digits. DISCOMFORT & THE YUCKY FACTOR 1. The couches were old with many stains. It is really disingenuous on the part of the property management to cover the stains with blankets to mislead in believing clean couches. 2. There are scratches on the living area floor. 3. Bed Quality: (I) The main bedroom bed was very hard. (II) The second bed was lumpy and creaky. 4. The bathroom towels are average to low quality. One particular towel quality was disgusting. 5. The toilet seat was loose and wobbly. Why didn’t maintenance fix it before the new guests checked in? 6. Why not keep a Nespresso coffee machine; in addition to the water kettle? Also it is time to replace the water kettle.

Ein toller Aufenthalt im Novemer, bei bestem Wetter. Vor allem die Lage direkt am Douro Fluss hat uns gefallen.

Non funzionava il termosifone del bagno e per tutti e 4 i giorni del soggiorno ho contattato la struttura per chiedere un intervento visto che avevo due ragazzi che non hanno potuto fare la doccia perchè l'ambiente era troppo freddo !
