Old Castle Oia - Adults Only

Absolutely loved this place, From the massive breakfast brought to your terrace table, to the wonderful staff who each and every one was so friendly and helpful, to our cool room. I’d highly recommend room 1 of the normal suites - big terrace area, big jacuzzi which is covered, two big sun loungers…, it’s a perfect sunbathing spot if you want your own space

Old Castle Oia is a little slice of heaven. My husband and I stayed at Old Castle the first week of August 2021. We loved that there are only 11 rooms, so the pool area was never over crowded. The sunset view from the pool is unbeatable. As tourists pile into the streets of Oia to watch the sunset, we got to watch it from the comfort of the pool at Old Castle. The location is amazing as you're just steps from the main Oia strip. Just note, you'll have to climb a health amount of stairs to get there, so be prepared for that. Breakfast was served on our private balcony every morning. It was delicious and there's lots of food so you definitely will not be left feeling hungry. Finally, Bianca, the concierge is an angel. She was so pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. She helped us book dinners and a beach club day. Anything we needed, she helped us with. We could not have been happier with our experience at Old Castle. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

There are not enough words to describe how darling this hotel and its location are!! If you’re considering this hotel…all I can say is it’s an absolute GEM!! The staff is wonderful …specially Bianca who made our stay even more special! Everyone gathers on this side of the hillside to see the sunset every night. The location is picturesque to say the least. It’s a little steep up and down steps to get there, but BEYOND WORTH IT!!!!!

Old Castle Oia is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, in the best place I’ve ever visited. The hotel has the best location in all of Oia so you can watch the sunset without all the hoards of people who gather at the sunset viewing spot nearby. It’s super safe and walkable to everything you would want to see in Oia and Ammoudi Bay. The service is absolutely impeccable. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the staff is (including Bianca, Giannis, and the gentleman who served breakfast—give them all a raise!). The breakfast is delicious and the pool is perfect for cooling off in the summer heat. I am absolutely returning to Oia next summer and will be staying at Old Castle Oia!

I have mixed opinions about my stay at Old Castle. We splurged and booked a very nice room with private outdoor jetted hot tub. The hot tub was the main reason we booked this hotel. When we receive our room our hot tub jets were not working and it was very disappointing. I immediately asked them to repair it and they assured me a repair man would be coming later. The person never showed and the property failed to keep me updated. Finally on the second evening (we were only there 2 nights) they fixed it. The second night of our stay was wonderful, I just wish we had the hot tub we paid for, for both nights. Also, the property pool was FILLED with little nat bugs. Also, if you arrive before 3pm there are no hotel toilets that can be used which makes it very inconvenient if you want to change. All around I would say this place missed the mark on 5 stars but still a nice place to stay.
