It was welcoming Eclectic wait we use the café downstairs for afternoon tea and evening mail which was excellent

Unfortunately, there was a noise from the toilet when one emptied the sink. I believe it was the macerator which continued for several hours.

the staff here is very friendly and helpful. Although they charged extra for a dog, they prepared a welcome basket for the dog, which is really considerate.

There is little sunshine in the room, but it's not a big problem.

No meals available Mon or Tuesday nights, basic breakfast available on site.

Pleasant standard room with greeny at window, private, not polished but comfortable, decent bathroom, easy to find hotel and good instructions to find room after 5pm arrival. Great breatfast room upstairs with views, activities, self-service continental, plus lovely cafe downstairs. Easy come-and-go from side passage, street parking up to 9am outside door. The local chippy is apparently a special find, although we went to the short drive Turtley Corn Mill for dinner.

Clean, convenient and quiet

It was an eco property so environmentally good.

I booked a hotel room for 2 people and our dog at the Station House Hotel. Richard phoned to say he didn’t have a room available and offered his eco property instead. He said we would love it and after telling him I was undergoing chemotherapy so it had to be clean, he assured me it was. I also asked if the bathroom facilities were good, he assured me they were excellent. When we arrived it didn’t seem to have been cleaned. There was cooking fat all over the hob, the kettle and bin next to it. There was dust everywhere, the towels and tea towel smelt musty. I went to get a mop and vacuum cleaner to remedy but they were covered in dirt and the mop was grey with dirt. There was also a note to say we couldn’t flush toilet paper or nappies and had to put them in a tiny, open topped bin. I have medical conditions which means I wear nappies and have to flush lots of paper. If I had been told this when I was offered the property I would have asked for a refund for the hotel room. When I asked Richard if the bathroom was clean and suitable I was assured it was. We had to stay the first night as I was poorly but went home the next day. I texted Richard to inform him but he didn’t respond. If he had I wouldn’t have issued this information on your website. We were so disappointed with the accommodation and the location, as it was above the A38 which was not relaxing. It could be a fabulous place to stay if it was finished off properly and had a deep clean.

Comfortable bed, power shower, clean.

Self-service breakfast was OK. Slightly odd to be the only one in the building overnight / at breakfast.
