Station House

Location was good. Rooms were warm. Lots of hot water. Glad there was a mini fridge. All very clean.

Unfortunately I am sensitive to chemicals, so use of Fabreze and room freshers was extreme for me. I smelt them immediately we opened the outer door. The mattress was too soft and chemical fabric conditioner in the linen meant that I did not sleep well. I usually bring my own pillow to Hotels but on this occasion I forgot. We were also disappointed that there was just instant coffee in the breakfast room. We had expected a real coffee machine. Especially as the cafe downstairs serves real coffee.

The bed was approximately 4 feet wide not the extra large bed 151-W 181 cm that was described on Booking.com

Good sized rooms. Not disturbed.

Quite cold in the evenings and no heating on.

Spacious and clean. Plenty of tea and coffee and complimentary locally made fudge. Restoring the old pub was obviously a labour of love. With a close affinity to the railway, great attention has been made to give the property a station feel. There was a complimentary continental breakfast, but we chose to eat at the downstairs café. We are both vegetarian and we can highly recommend the breakfast. The café has a nice feel about it as locals popped in and out. Great value for money and we would recommend staying.

Great location for overnight stop. Very comfortable bed and facilities all good. Nice lounge area for residents and complimentary drinks/snacks for breakfast available. Cafe was open in the morning for coffee/breakfast, but not in the evening the night I stayed. Fuss free check-in via messaging. Parking is round the corner in the station carpark but only a couple of minutes walk away.

Nothing really. Renovations are clearly ongoing so not everything is perfect, but a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
