Quinta da Moscadinha

Breakfast was great, location great if you have a car. Restaurant was amazing, great authentic local food at a great price.

My preference is the ability to make coffee in the evening that isn’t instant. If you wanted a coffee after 7pm you had to make your way to the restaurant and pay for one. Breakfast was good, but it appeared the later you went the less options as it didn’t seem to get replenished the same as when you went earlier for breakfast.

Everything was excellent: comfy and spacious room (large room on the 1st floor, not the ground floor), good bed and pillows, nice view at the garden, very quite, tasty breakfasts, very nice and friendly staff. The isolation could be better, but as it is an old building, the guests are expected to moderate the noise. So this place is excellent for couples looking for a relaxing vacation. The photos don't do this hotel justice. It's beautifully decorated and maintained. The staff, breakfast and onsite restaurant are lovely The location is great if you're there for walking. There's a supermarket 5 minutes walk away which is super convenient too.

Quinta da Moscadinha was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We were pleased that our fellow guests also enjoyed the tranquility of the hotel, as there was very little noise. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of options. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The bus stop to Funchal was close to the hotel, which was very useful.

If I am being fussy, it would have been nice to have proper cups in the rooms, instead of small plastic beakers, to make tea/coffee on an evening.
