Great breakfast

Small room with little storage

A beautiful house, sumptuous décor, and friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts, and the restaurant above the hotel was excellent. They also have two restaurants in Funchal, one of which we visited for NYE and it was very good too. (and gave us the guests' discount despite us already having left the hotel). We particularly enjoyed the comfortable lounge with a raging log fire in the evenings.

Worth noting that Camacha is 2000 feet up from the coast so the temperature is 4 degrees cooler than Funchal. There were no takers for the pool between Xmas and New Year!

Moist - in the first room we didn’t have dehumidifier and we weren’t aware we can ask for one. We also didn’t have a heater there so we couldn’t dry any clothes. Our first room was very small and we couldn’t even open the door as our bag was there.

Quinta da Moscadinha is a peaceful and beautiful sanctuary.The house itself is lovely and despite its age is very comfortable. The garden and pool are great for relaxing after a day of activity. The Quinta is a good location for accessing hiking trails at Pico do Arieiro, Sao Lourenco and Larano as well as the airport.

The animals, the bed was very comfy, parking on site, plenty of sun loungers, coffee available during the day. Room was clean & tidy.

The shower would flood into the bathroom, no air conditioning. On our first day the breakfast was quite empty and wasn’t being refilled. It would be nice if there was a fridge in the rooms to keep drinks cool.
