Saldanha Prestige

The location is excellent, only 10 min walk from the Saldanha metro station on the red line which connects to the airport. The apartment has 8 or 9 individual rooms, 2 bathrooms with showers, and a kitchen with dining space. Each room is accessible from a hall, like in a hotel. The bathrooms are not marked but are the only ones without a number next to the door. The bathrooms are quite spacious and clean. The kitchen is convenient for eating breakfast but cooking is not advisable because the smells can easily spread throughout the whole apartment and the ventilation is not good. WiFi works fine and can support video calls. The beds are comfortable.

I asked for a quiet room and in the description of the booked room soundproofing was included. I was given a room facing the street which was very noisy and I could not sleep at all during the night. After contacting the host by messenger in booking and via whatsapp (there is no permanent staff at the property) I was told that for the first night all rooms were booked. The next day I could change the room with a quieter one (the view was bad but at least I could finally rest). To change the room I was asked by the host to give the cleaning staff 30 EUR. I think it was a rip off since I should have got a quiet room with soundproofing from the very beginning (as I booked and already paid for) but I gave the cleaning ladies the 30 EUR because they were working hard and at least that money went directly to them. There is no soundproofing in any room. The communication with the host was not very good - for instance, I was writing about the specific problems of the noisy room I got during the night and as reply I was getting first a standard copy-paste message about the attractions of Lisbon. Then, as apology for having received a reply that was unrelated to my question, I was told that my message was read only in the morning (it was already 9 am) after the reply was sent - well, who can trully blame someone for not paying enough attention to job-related tasks in the morning? Eventually things improved. The opening of the front door is activated for the first time through an app (you can continue using it during your stay or you can use the keys in the room). If your mobile does not have battery when you arrive from the airport or you do not have roaming data to access the app when you first arrive at the residence you cannot enter.

Great region, spacious bedroom and washrooms and well-equipped kitchen

There were some mosquitos in my bedroom, the fan was small there was no proper place to hang my wet towel. The app used to open doors can be tricky as it demands internet connection and I could not access the wifi upon arrival

The bathrooms and kitchen areas were clean and sufficient for all guests accommodated. In general, the room and bed cozy and comfortable to overnight there. Kitchen has all required cutlery and equipment.

It was unpleasant to see the room unclean with garbage inside. After discussing with the host this was solved.

Location is just perfect.

Showers were sometimes not very clean.
