The Yellow House

The location is unbeatable to walk around with plenty of dining options.

Gabriele is extremely caring and friendly. The house is very clean and welcoming. Good location, safe gate system. Good breakfast.

One little minus is that the house and rooms are very old / "lived in look".

This property is run by the most lovely German mother and daughter duo. A huge bonus is that they speak fluent English, German, and Spanish. The rooms are big, airy, and clean. They also serve a breakfast with fresh juice, coffee, variety of fruits, bread, and eggs. This is an extremely safe location as it is literally a 1 min walk to the center of Plaza Foch. (This area is heavily patrolled by police so one of the few areas in Quito that is safe at night with tons of restaurants and bars around.) There is also a supermarket Maxi close by. Another bonus I found out through being here is that Gabi, the mother, also works as a tour operator so she can help with planning or recommendations of where to go since she has been living in Ecuador for over 10 years along with running this hotel. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

This property is very good value for money but most of all I enjoyed the friendliness of the people who run it - Gabi and Shanti. It felt very safe staying there and the included breakfasts were very nice.

Gabby and her daughter were so kind and helpful! They would check in with us on our plans and would help give recommendations. I was traveling with my two girl friends and the Yellow House felt very safe and our room was comfortable. Even on mornings when we had early tours they would be ready at 6:30 with breakfast. Great place to stay in this area with hosts who will look out for you!

Gaby is super friendly and helpful. Prepared early breakfast by my choice before my tour departure. Location in the centre of Mariscal could be great but the area did not feel comfortable.

Old house, a bit run down. Be careful with room descriptions, it is difficult to understand if the room has a real window or it opens to a dark corridor.

Unbelievably helpful hosts and super nice. Great atmosphere of old colonial house. Smoke alarms, overhead sprinklers and modernized bathrooms. Breakfasts were great.
