L accessibilité aux box pour dormir avec des sacs, une propreté moyenne, le box de chambre pas net, et une chambre qui ne fermait pas à clé.

Hostel met kleine pods. Wij waren met zijn vieren en hadden juist een van de twee kamers (soort van appartement) met hele goede bedden. In dezelfde ruimte maar boven ons sliepen onze volwassen zonen. We hadden een eigen inpandige buitendouche en een eigen WC. Er zat een goed werkende airco in plus grote ventilator. Er zat ook een eigen keuken in. De sfeer in het hostel was gemoedelijk en veel jongeren maakten er gebruik van. De weg naar de stranden Playa Carmen (iets dichter bij) en Playa Santa Teresa zijn te voet goed af te leggen.

De keuken was minimaal uitgerust. Daarentegen kon er van alles worden gebruikt in de gemeenschappelijke keuken.

Buena ubicación, ya que no está en plena avenida principal la cual es un caos, lleno de motos todo el día, mucho ruido. Muy amable la persona que nos recibió ya que apesar de no manejar bien el español lo intentaba para poder comunicarse. Baños (compartidos) siempre limpios.

Precio elevado para el nivel del alojamiento. La ducha si bien es muy artesanal, creo que se puede mejorar bastante. Apesar de que indicaron que no facilitaban toallas, nos entregaron igual. Creo que esto es super importante a considerar ya que muchas veces uno va con el equipaje liviano y por lo general todos los hospedajes dan toallas de baño. No hay útiles de aseo en la ducha (jabón, shampoo, acondicionador), tampoco secador de pelo.

I had a good overall stay at Akih Pods Hostel. Communication before arrival was smooth and helpful, which made everything easy from the start. The location is great—perfectly positioned between Santa Teresa and Playa Carmen, so you can easily explore both. I also really appreciated the common spaces; there are plenty of areas to relax, do yoga, cook, or just hang out, which gives the place a nice social but still laid-back vibe. The beach is close, so is a supermarket.

I stayed in a 6-bed dorm, and there wasn’t enough space for luggage, especially when the room is full. The top pods are quite high, which makes getting in and out with your belongings a bit inconvenient. The private bathroom in the dorm also had very low water pressure, although the shared bathrooms elsewhere were much better. One more thing: the AC turns on automatically at night. If you’re in the top pods, it gets quite cold—I actually ended up getting sick—so it’s worth bringing something warm to sleep in.
