Chartwell Retreat

Quirky, clean and quaint room in great location in centre of Whitby. Nicely decorated, 4 comfortable single beds great for group of friends.

The beams were very low, despite being aware a couple of us did bang our heads. Could have done with a couple more chairs (folding would be fine). The fridge isn’t big or cold enough ( although mini long life milk portions were provided ).

The location was excellent and the accommodation was clean and everything you needed to hand.

We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be booking again. The accommodation is literally in the centre of everything which was fantastic. The room was clean with everything you would need for your stay. In the words of my eldest son "wow mum, you picked an amazing place. I love it here." says it all really. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

The location was great, close to the centre and also to the little abbey which had great views. The room was a decent size, the shower was good and it was nice to have a little fridge.

The worst thing was the noise from the flat upstairs as anytime anyone walked across, it made a lot of creaking and being a light sleeper I was woken up hourly. We had requested a cot but we only found it the next morning as it was folded up in a cupboard and there were no sheets for it. The room was up a steep flight of stairs so that's something to consider if you have mobility issues or lots of luggage or young kids. I understand it was high season but it seemed a bit overpriced for what you get.
