Cardinal Hotel

Amazing stay! The space was lovely, super clean, the bed was comfy, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back again. This neighborhood is awesome! There's tons to see and do. I'd definitely recommend grabbing a coffee/brekkie at Verve or Oklava and checking out the Stanford Theatre too.

The Hotel in itself was absolutely charming and in a lovely part of Palo Alto. I loved the architecture element and the room was chanting. However, it was unfortuntely not advertised that there was not a bathroom in the room. It was shared as well as the toilet. Mind you I did book it on bookings.com and it did not state this element in the process of booking. I found out while checking in, the hotel mentioned it called me to notify prior but I didn't receive any calls. All in all, the staff and everyone was pleasant, just wish I had known prior. I couldn't change my reservation becuase I was there for work but next time I will know, there are rooms that do have a bathroom in them, so when booking I would suggest making sure you are getting one with a bathroom if its something you need, I would book directly with the hotel.

The Cardinal is a warm inviting traditional hotel that captures the best aspects of vintage Californian architecture, beautiful decor complimented by exceptional service staff. We really appreciated the convenience of a multitude of wonderful restaurants within steps of the hotel. We look forward to staying at the Cardinal Hotel again in the future.

We have enjoyed our stays at The Cardinal, a now one-hundred-year-old hotel in the heart of Palo Alto. We have stayed several other places, but The Cardinal is so central to the downtown area that we keep coming back. The amenities of a modern hotel are less important to us than the proximity to restaurants, shops, bars, and the theater, all within easy walking distance. These are helpful to us since we do not have a rental car when we come into town. The staff has been terrific, the rooms and bed are very nice, and the elevator is something else.

We have a great experience. The rooms have a good space, always clean, comfortable beds and good service. The only issue is the noise from outside because of the business but I think we come back again in the future. I really recommend . Over the price I can tell you because someone pay for it.

Stayed on a Sunday night. I let them know it was my first time there. I booked 3 days before. They gave me room 204. Dumpsters right outside our windows load noisy all night. 2:00 am people pull up in a van is running going through the Dumpsters bottles banging. This was in an alley which only magnified the sound. And noise all night. No sleep here. Then the next morning we go to get our breakfast that is included in our room price and they said sorry the restaurant is closed on Mondays. I said it States right on your website breakfast included 7 days a week for hotel guests . They didn't seem to care no customer service anymore I guess. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

You need to list that there is NO AC available. It is a beautiful hotel but no mention whatsoever that you would walk into a room without AC. I had to visit due to work and walking in at night without AC really made my stay very hard. Beautifull clean hotel but they should at least offer a portable AC option.
