Quirky Cottage

Clean and tidy and very convenient location to explore St. Andrews.

The boiler had to be reset by our group as we had no hot water at one stage. The boiler indicated that a service was due.

We loved how warm and cosy the cottage was, which made it very welcoming. The cottage was well furnished and clearly being regularly maintained.

Location was excellent. Walking distance to all amenities and the beach.

Was a bit noisy at times.

Had to call the management to get lock box code as no email was provided. Little touches on arrival like some fresh milk in the fridge was absent. Salt and pepper satches provided by Pret felt a bit cheap. On check out the host waited outside the property with the engine running whilst we packed the car, which felt unnecessary and unfriendly

Well located to walk into St Andrews. Quiet. Well equipped. Free parking nearby.

We pre-paid them £10 for firewood for the open fire 'for the duration of the stay' ie 4 nights. When we arrived, Dec 23, there was one plastic bag of wood and another of kindling which we used up in one evening. We had to phone them to ask for more which arrived on Christmas morning and just about lasted till day 4. The only reason we chose this cottage for our Christmas break was for the open fire. Very disappointing.

A bit cold as the heating kept going off

Location, 5 min walk to centre. Basic facilities but everything functional. Good value for money and pet friendly, we had 2 dogs with us. Mix up with the key box code but fixed quickly with a phone call.

I would have rated it excellent except for a few minor things. Shower makes an incredible noise when in use, possible air lock? The silicone around the tray showing mould and tiles missing grout at fireplace.

Location superb. Very well equipped kitchen. Very warm

A slight issue was the hot water in the bath although we managed in the end - it took a while to run - both my husband and I hate showers! The bedrooms were a little dark for putting on make up and no dressing table, the cottage is probably used more by golfers and this wouldn't really be a problem!!
