Citystay Living - Hinton House

La struttura è molto carina, comoda per raggiungere la stazione del treno a piedi e proprio di fronte alla fermata dell’autobus. Ho molto apprezzato che la casa ci sia stata resa disponibile prima dell’orario previsto per il check in dopo nostra richiesta.

La macchina del caffè non funzionava, essendo Sabato l’assistenza era solo per le emergenze, quindi non ho segnalato il problema durante il mio soggiorno. Consiglio un po’ più di attenzione nella pulizia delle ragnatele.

The property is in a safe area of Cambridge, about 15 minutes from the train station.

The property has no parking. There is no wifi- a WiFi password is provided but the WiFi does not work, and as others have mentioned, they haven't attempted to address this complaint for years. When I arrived, I did a self check-in and the heating was broken. It was minus -4°c in the apartment and freezing temperatures. I called the property manager who told me that I didn't know how to work the heating, and that I should go to bed and he would send someone in the morning. It was so freezing cold I had to go to a hotel that first night (it was snowing outside). I felt exasperated at being spoken down to, as the thermostat was clearly broken. When the plumber arrived, he couldn't fix it and had to call the company whose technology ran the boilers. Instead of calling the company directly as I had told the property manager to, they messed around with random plumbers. It was a waste of my time and a poor way to treat a guest. They also told me that the temperature was 'mild' and that I could live without heating- in -4°c temperatures. I was moved to another apartment on the ground floor, where the heating did work. But I found myself helping all new guests to open their lockbox late at night, simply to get peace and quiet and sleep. Many international guests could not understand their instructions and wandered around the property late at night for hours. The directions were not very clear. Some guests are noisy late at night and blast the TV and music. If you need peace and quiet for a business trip, it may be wiser to book a more expensive hotel where the staff can advise guests to quieten down and are on site. Also, please replace the mattresses. At this price guests deserve not to have old mattresses that are caved in.
