Tannery Cottage

Het was een ontzettend schattig huisje in een leuk dorpje. Het huis was van alle gemakken voorzien. Van een föhn, kruiken tot een staafmixer. Dat maakte ons verblijf erg prettig.

Hoewel de badkamer en keuken netjes schoongemaakt waren had het stofzuigen grondiger gemogen. Ook kunnen het meubilair en de kleden wel een reinigingsbeurt gebruiken. We werden van te voren door een vriendelijke dame gebeld dat we eerder mochten inchecken maar contact via berichtjes was niet mogelijk, dan moet je bellen.

De locatie was was prima, op loopafstand van de gezellige pubs, restaurants, winkeltjes en een buurtsupermarkt.

Op basis van de reviews én de hoge prijs hadden we een fantastische cottage verwacht. Dat viel zwaar tegen. Het was viezig (etensresten op de vloer, vettige glazen met vingerafdrukken, huisdieren geur en veel stof), de tuin kan wel wat liefde gebruiken, vaatwasser werkt niet naar behoren, missende batterij in CO2 meter en kapotte afzuiging in badkamer. Dat laatste heb ik direct gemeld maar niemand heeft contact opgenomen. Het Whatsapp gesprek werd na 4 dagen verbroken.

The good thing is that it's a lovely house with a nice interior, and it's close to Burford High Street, so we could enjoy a stay that is unique to the Cotswolds. The negative thing is that the hot water stopped working halfway through, so the whole family couldn't take a hot shower, and when I inquired about it to the property, there was no reply. (I contacted them on the first day of my three-night stay, but there was no reply.) Also, the best before date of the instant coffee provided had passed four years! It's way too long to be out of date.

Great location and pretty, characterful property.

Pans and kitchen utensils needed all to be properly washed before being able to use anything.
