Staff is friendly and location is great. The hotel is so tired. Lobby is polished concrete. The rest of the hotel is comprised of beat up, dirty carpet squares. That includes the rooms. Carpet was worn out and gummy. Not appealing or a good value for the price they charge

Comfortable and clean

When you walk in the room WOW it’s like an apartment. Huge, upscale, dishwasher, stove, lived the drawer fridges, however…… parking was hard to find even Google had trouble, our shampoo conditioner and hand soap were all empty. Body wash and lotion were full, kuerig was nice only decaf coffee which was weird there were several areas on one bed with multiple stains which we didn’t see till next day. Please be very cautious in the shower looked amazing but it was so slippery and water gets ever where as it’s huge and no doors. The toilet paper holder was broke and the paper kept falling to the floor. I would stay here again for sure but would ask for those things above to be addressed with cleaning staff and maintenance. I will say I have never had to scan room key to use elevator but I think this is amazing and would hope more hotels switch to this system. I felt so safe. We only stayed one night and visited the campus. Hamburg Inn 2 is a must eat place. The pork tenderloin sand and pie shakes were best ever!!!!

Booked a king w/ balcony. Got to room, air conditioner wasn't working. Staff had placed portable air conditioner but it was still 82 degrees. Staff was kind enough to immediately find a new room but went from king to 2 queens which was disappointing. While staff was great in accommodating a new room, this was a known issue & advance notice of the AC issue would've been appreciated before stepping into the room. Second room seemed fine until I went to leave & noticed door didnt fully latch. A push of moderate force caused the door to swing wide open which was horrifying. Doesn't appear that the issue can be fixed without actual construction intervention. Once again the staff found me a new room but I had to repack all my belongings. Third room door latched so I counted it as a win. However, toilet paper holder never latched properly, kept falling off. A bathroom drawer kept rolling back open (construction flaw) and I would bang my leg into it. No shampoo left in the shower. The card reader on room door kept popping off. The entire room butts up to a large communal patio which was uncomfortable (luckily it wasn't busy during my stay but during busy times this would feel very exposed - curtains would have to be drawn so no access to natural light). While staff was fantastic, the overall quality of the facility has serious issues. I can't see myself staying here again. Really felt like a waste of money for motel quality facility and amenities.

Wow! We only stayed 1 night but their customer service and hotel is amazing!!! We would stay here again when we come to Iowa city! Very spacious room with many amenities close by. Hotel room is very modern and comfortable place to stay:)

Perfect location for my trip and the studio I rented was extremely spacious.
