"Would choose this beautiful located house again"

8.0

The guesthouse was beautifully furnished, which was a thing for me, as I was looking for the "antique style" while I have to be able to afford it. This georgian house is super located, as all the important buslines stop in front of it. You can walk into the City Center as well and it will take you about 10 minutes. The owner is very friendly, always helping out and we had a nice chat.

I guess it is only about room 3 which would be much better for one person and therefore with a smaller bed. Right now, it is even difficult to reach the other side of the bed. The room is on the street side and you may have to use earwax, with which I had no problem. The shower comes from the ceiling and has no handle, so it is a yogastyle washing:) but after all, we could deal with these things.

"Great place to stay in Edinburgh"

10.0

Beautiful place to stay and lady running it was great. Does a really nice continental breakfast. Bus stop at front door and you can get all day pass for £5.50. we used this to go to Roslyn Chapel and then into the city. Easy walking distance to the Royal Mile and great laundry just up the road.

"Our stay (3 couples) was very pleasant with friendly staff."

6.0

Basic continental breakfast, room clean, bed a bit creaky, pillows too hard for me. Location: excellent for travel into city centre, regular bus services outside the door.

Nothing in particular.

"Very poor"

2.0

The location is nice, I didn't go for the breakfast so can't talk about that, the room is big and the landlady seemed nice.

But, the huge room meant it'll never properly warm up in the cold weather. I was freezing every day and night that I actually caught a cold and got sick after two days of being there. The heating is apparently only allowed to be on for one hour during the evening. Which meant it'll never have enough time to do ANYTHING. I felt no change when the heating was on then when it wasn't I was freezing all night, waking up constantly because of the cold. During daytime it was difficult to leave the warmth of the bed to go anywhere because simply changing clothes was a nightmare I didn't look forward to everyday as I trembled so I was forced to take hot showers everytime I wanted to go out so my body warms up enough for me to be able to get ready everyday. And then had to take hot showers when I got back because it was colder in the room than it was outside. I tried to ask the landlady about it but she only just laughed it off saying how Italians also complained about it, finding it funny we feel cold during less than 10°C? But did absolutely nothing to change it. The paid wifi was a shock so I had to be using my data all the time. Which was very slow too because surprise.. Lots of time there wasn't even a phone signal for some reason. Sometimes yes, mostly no. So I couldn't call or text anyone. I felt like I was isolated in a huge pretty cold room. Where I eventually got sick from staying in a cold place which very much ruined my weekly stay in Edinburgh as I was too weak too explore the place and had to stay in a lot to drink tea and eat a lot of pills in hopes the next day I can finally walk around. It was all just a nightmare honestly. Not to mention for like three days there was a huge spider on the ceiling that was my roommate and the carpet looked very unclean. The entire place felt a little humid and unclean. Oh and before I even went to that hotel I was trying to contact them, but they weren't even picking up for months.
