Kanaloa Funabashi

The host is very welcoming. Although her Japanese is better than her English, she is always very helpful. Explanation of the facilities is clean and there is a handy guidebook. The breakfast was customizable, which was nice. I had a traditional European breakfast and it was delicious every morning.

In terms of space, the room is comparable to a business hotel. This means there is little room for a large suitcase. As I was traveling alone, there was space for the suitcase on the empty bed. If you are together and have 2 suitcases, it might not fit the room. The toilet is shared, which could be a minus for some. Besides that, the building is next to the train tracks. While there is noise, the host provides ear plugs.

The location is really convenient — you can reach the property from two main train lines, Keisei Funabashi Station and Funabashi Station, which make it easy to visit many popular places around Tokyo.

The layout was very good and we really appreciated having a bath after traipsing around the Chiba/Tokyo area all day. Our host was very sweet and the neighbourhood was very peaceful and there were many conbini nearby for snacks and drinks on the go. One of us needed to change the pillow for a cushion type and that was very easy. I really liked the traditional futon style beds in the loft, they were very comfy.

It’s very clean and well-maintained. Furthermore, the breakfast is really good.

You can hear the train since it it is beside the railway. However, it seems they tried their best to minimize the noise so it would be bearable.

Very confortable place and very close to the train stations.
