Wachapreague Inn

We were definitely pleasantly surprised by this little spot. When we checked in, there was an amazing gift shop with unique local hand crafted items along with personal items if needed as well as drinks and snacks. Very friendly at check in. We were here for a conference at VIMS which was close enough to walk to as well as a restaurant across the street which accomodated vegan options for us. Breakfast was included in the stay at the check-in and was at 8am. They had oatmeal and hot water so we had something as a vegan option. Room was spacious, modern, had streaming options as well as cable TV, and had a refrigerator and freezer along with a microwave which was very helpful. Extra blanket provided if needed and a wall unit heater with thermostat. The one complaint - the beds were TOOOO Soft where you're falling into them... uncomfortably soft the we didn't get great nights sleep. Otherwise, the place exceeded our expectations. Hot water in shower was also great and they even had free bikes for guests to use.

We were greeted by Stanley, the cat. Everyone was super friendly & helpful.

Quiet, clean secluded

Why would you stay at a big chain hotel in this charming locally owned motel it's just a few minutes off the main highway. A friendly staff comfortable beds views of the marshes boats seafood old houses and old carnival rides. This little stop is just full of surprises. Come in and meet the house cat who is both charming and aloof. One of the best stays I've ever had in Virginia.

Cute little old school Motel. Clean and well cared for. Owners and staff friendly and obliging. Some hooks in the bathroom would have been appreciated.

Wachapregue inn is a no frills motel. Out of the way and near fishing (they cater to the fisherman). Clean and neat, across the street from a really nice restaurant and bar. Quiet and quaint village. We enjoyed our stay!

Brand new beds and a cozy seascape atmosphere. Enjoy free bicycling with restaurant across the street. Great attack cat greats you at check in. We stop here every year on our annual south-north sojourn. It is a pet of our trip that we really look forward to. The office personnel are great to work with.

My family and I stay in Wachapreague every August for a weekend to celebrate our Family memorial, and we’re never disappointed. The hospitality, the scenery, and just the area as a whole. The customer service is spot on, and everyone is so friendly and sweet. The area is so serene and peaceful; we just love going there, even the teenagers and younger kids had fun. We were worried about the teens and everyone because, the cell phone service is kind of shotty, depending on who your carrier is, but by the middle of the day, no one even cared about their phones because we were just enjoying the beauty. From riding the bikes that they let you use for free at the rental office, early morning fishing on the pier, you can rent golf carts and just enjoy the beauty of it all. So we have been going there for Over 15 years every summer and we will continue to as my maternal family was raised there, and we also visit our family home too.

Simple and easy accommodations. Nothing fancy, but if you're looking just for a place to sleep and then be out & about this is an excellent choice. Much more reasonable rates than other places in the area (looking at you major hotel chains!). We stopped for the night on our way to the Outer Banks and both of us said we'd like to come back when to explore when we had more time to do so!
