The Well Inn

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely place. Clean, tidy and comfortable.

The room was comfortable and tea and coffee had been provided. The small bottles of shower gel etc were a nice touch

The restaurant was not on site and was situated a short distance away from the Inn. This looked very run down and shabby. Road noise I found the bed and pillows hard (my husband was happy though).

Staff really nice, reception/bar area really clean. Rooms are absolutely perfect, very clean and tidy. Nice seating area outside as well

Unsurfaced car park, busy road, no restaurant on site, nuisance fire alarm in the night due to water leak. Bed not very comfortable and lack of power points for charging phones.

Clean and functional. Road noise is noticeable but not constant. The location does make the property easy to find and had plenty of easy parking space.

On the morning of leaving the hotel, we noticed that 4 of our family members had some sort of bites on them. Thankfully the baby didn't as we took our own travel cot as this was not provided by hotel. We needed to check out early and reception was not open, so using the message app ok booking.com I contacted the hotel so they were informed that something had bitten us throughout the night, I showed photos too, and they basically did not believe us. I asked to speak to a manager, but to this day, I still have not. They kept saying the "alleged" bites. Later that day they stated that they had the pest control team in to look in the room, however they advised nothing was found. I have asked to see the report and know the company they used so I can check but they will not reply to any correspondence. I believe that we were bitten by bed bugs from the single beds in the family room. We checked with a local pharmacy and took advice from NHS website. I would appreciate some sort of recognition or apology that myself, husband and 2 small children were bitten during our sleep on the night of the 18th August 2025, but they still have not communicated back to us. So for this reason I would not recommend this hotel.
