Oaklands Hotel By Greene King Inns

We booked 3 nights and only had 1 nights sleep. Loud drunk people staying banging shouting all night and late too at 3 4am. rang night number but had to leave a message. police called as woman threatening to jump off roof,is this normal?? Not impressed I cannot recommend a stay at the hotel but the breakfast was good. room clean bar staff friendly just terrible residents. also very old metal framed windows that did not lock and as we were on the ground floor it was a security risk. So I had to use a pair of socks to secure the catches. We had to carry ourvalubleswith us all day as we felt it was not safe to leave them.

Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, not to far to walk to the city centre, plenty free parking spots on site, we enjoyed our lunch, and breakfast .. Yes would stay there again and recommend to family and friends

Met up with 10 friends for a chat and a meal. Everything was great. Good food, value for money. We all had different meals but all were served quickly and together, so no one was left waiting. I had the curry which was tasty. Elaine was very polite, she knew the menu well so was able to answer any questions. All in all we enjoyed our night

We have stayed here before and our stay was great. This time our room was very small with limited natural light , the bed was comfy and the room and bathroom was clean and had the usual tea, coffee etc. The biggest complaint would be that there was a strange smell in the hallway leading to our room, dont quite know what it was but it wasnt pleasant. The staff were polite and the bar area was nice. I would stay here again but would book another room.

It’s the second time I’ve stayed at The Oaklands & no complaints from me, I’d happily stay a third time

Very simple room accommodations but met our needs for sleeping while using rooms within the restaurant/bar complex as base to travel to Welsh National Eisteddfod in Wrexham for three nights. Not convenient to pick up bus or not many taxi's on the road. Bar staff helpful.

Very friendly staff always willing to go the extra mile to help us enjoy our stay, which was punctuated by great games of pool and the hotel's Connect Four set. We had the football on too, which we were pleased with as it was the beginnin of the season. The food we ordered was always prompt and tasty. Good choice of beers too! diolch / thanks

Stayed at the Oaklands in Chester,after reading good reviews online I had high expectations! Oh how wrong I was. When checking in the notes on the booking note on their system tried to take payment of another amount from our card even though we had already paid! The room when we eventually got it was a dark,dingy box room(room 3), as soon as we walked through the door it smelt like a sweaty,greasy head as if the pillowcases hadn't been changed from the previous occupents.It had one window that no sunlight whatsoever came through and the view was a rubbish laden bush! We had no AC on one of the hottest days of the year making it unbearable. The walls are paper thin so we could hear everything from the room next door( who I'm sure we're being noisy on purpose)and when I say everything I mean everything. So sleeping was near on impossible. We went into the pub for a meal which to be fair wasn't too bad but it is just basic, cheap pub food. And the staff well, it wouldn't of hurt them to have cracked a smile once in a while! All in all a very poor and disappointing stay and would not recommend.
