Hyatt Place Amarillo-West

Great place but seems runs down already for being new.

The staff was great, the clientele made this place pretty gross. Breakfast was a nightmare due to it. The staff was doing great, but just couldnt keep up. Also the newer hotels have these obnoxious doors that slam whenever someone comes in or out. Did not sleep at all.

I wasn’t happy here. The rooms are cute and the interior of the hotel is updated. I asked for a quiet room and they put me literally a one room away from the elevator when I asked to be away from the elevators. There’s a connecting room and I can hear everything. The guy is saying on the phone every single word. This is a far cry from a quiet room at the end of the hall. And the hotel is not full. There were people parking in the front, but nobody parked in the back at all. There is probably several years worth of trash in the field surrounding the parking lot. Oh, and the worst part so far is that they don’t have a decent luggage rack at all. It was the worst luggage rack I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen bad luggage racks before, but at least they have some hooks on them for their bags. I go on very long trips and I have a lot of stuff. It took me two trips to the car when I got here after midnight and I have a meeting this Morning. Why would a Hyatt have such a terrible luggage rack? How much money could they possibly save to make it worth inconveniencing their customers like that? I saw another guy too struggling with all of his bags on that ridiculous cart with them falling off on his way out to his car. I am so disappointed and I wish I would’ve chosen a different hotel but I don’t think there are many options in Albuquerque. Terrible Wi-Fi. Constantly getting kicked off of it. Last night I spent almost an hour and two calls, trying to get Comcast to work and it never did. Today I asked for a 4 o’clock check out because I’m a globalist. The lady wanted to counter with 1 o’clock. I said I’m a globalist. I’m entitled to 4 o’clock and she said I’ll put you down for 330.! and then someone walked right in without even knocking at 12:45. My dog barked at them and they deserved it. Somebody should really give me extra points for the lack of consideration in requesting a quiet room, nonworking, Comcast, and housekeepers entering the room without knocking. There is no do not disturb sign. I really should have put a handwritten sign on the door I suppose but you know what if they’re not going to provide us with a do not disturb sign then I guess they deserve to get barked at. Did I mention the HORRIBLE back doors? They screech so loudly probably everyone on the entire first floor hears it even in the rooms with the doors closed. I don’t know how the employees can stand to hear that all day long and not fix it.

We unexpectedly stayed at this hotel due to a family emergency, and I’m genuinely grateful for the staff's accommodation and compassion during such a stressful time. From the moment I arrived, they treated me with kindness and understanding, which made a difficult situation a little easier to manage. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff went out of their way to help with anything we needed, simply being patient and considerate. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable — exactly what I needed to rest and regroup. The hotel itself was well-maintained and peaceful, and I appreciated having a safe, calm place to return to each day. While this wasn’t a trip I had planned, the care and professionalism shown by the staff made a meaningful difference. Thank you to the team for your empathy and support. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay here again under better circumstances.
