The Watling Inn

Trying not to be rude . Externally it looked ok but that’s as good as it gets

The images shown on your website do not represent the actual hotel . There was building work going on in the corridors , had to step over step ladders and piles of paint scrapings on the floor . The smell of paint was overpowering. The hotel advertised WiFi but no connection, the tv was plugged in but no channels available. I was going to make a coffee and when I turned the cup it was dirty inside . I have images

Amazing staff, from the cleaners to the front of house staff, super friendly and helpful would 100% recommend. The rooms were really clean and comfortable.

It felt very gloomy. There was a nice natural light from the window however the window looked right onto the front where there was a patch of grass and men just walking about on the phone looking in… there was no privacy. I shut the curtain but than there was no nice light. It was very dull and dark in there. There was a horrible brown red wood for the bathroom door and made the room look even gloomier. I couldn’t use one of the plugs in the room as it was used for CCTV. I assume it was for outside but the wire went to the radiator so was confused but than made me a bit uncomfortable. Overall, I felt uncomfortable being there and booked a premier inn instead.

Extensive menu but they only had frozen burger or pizza. Very strange smell throughout the building. Showe still had public hair in the basin. Was given raw mushrooms with the breakfast.

Very friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for you, evening meal was lovely as was the full English at breakfast. Highly recommend.

On this occasion the location suited our needs though it was situated on a very busy road. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff we met were very pleasant.

The breakfast was ‘interesting’ as only a cooked breakfast with tea or coffee was on offer, no cereal or fruit juices. There appeared to be not enough parking for the number of rooms available, when we went out in the evening we lost our parking spot and had to park by the fence.
