Hotel Ocean

Just back from a two night stay at Hotel Ocean where we stayed whilst attending a wedding nearby. From check in to check out all staff were friendly, helpful & couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is modern & welcoming, loved the decor throughout. Free on street Parking was available in nearby residents parking zones - just give your Reg No to reception on arrival. Particularly liked the outside terrace to enjoy a drink & watch the world go by. We ate at the on site Box Tree Bistro on Friday evening … we shared a few small plates & they were all delicious as were the cocktails. Our sea view room was large & well equipped. Good selection on the welcome tray along with a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable. Good size bathroom & the water pressure was great. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room & there was a good choice of both hot & cold options … all of which were beautifully presented & very tasty. Would recommend a stay here to anyone. Our only issue was with the temperature of the room … there was no air con & we couldn’t manage to open the sash windows as they were very high. A window pole in the room would have made it so much easier to let some fresh air in, especially as the room faces East so gets early morning sun. The Manager did come & open them for us but we could hardly ask him to do so every time.

The property was stylish and comfortable. We stayed in the suite which is a beautiful large room with lots of windows overlooking the sea. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was incredible. Very nice breakfast menu too. Really impressed.

The hotel was dirty and run down. Toilet was broken and we could not get it fixed as they were “too busy”. We paid for a sea view and couldn’t see the sea. We didn’t stay and booked into another hotel.

Perfect location, and the breakfast was delicious , we ate at restaurant in the evening, the food was excellent.

Stairs were a little steep.

The rooms needed a little update in the door in the toilet. Kept jamming. The toilet seat kept sliding to the side. Needed a little fix. But otherwise it was beautiful. The views were excellent.The staff were excellent and the hotel was excellent.I had a brilliant holiday.Other person would have put up more of a stink with a couple of things.But we loved it definitely going to go back

Just the toilet door sticking and the toilet seat, moving from side to side when you sit on it.One of the things was broken did mention hopefully get repaired more once

The breakfast and evening meals were outstanding! The view from the bedroom was also great.

No lift in the property and no parking immediately outside hotel.
