Treetops Retreat Katoomba

We are a traveling party of 10 (2 families). This house is big & spacious. Was hoping to use the fireplace but could not find the fire lighter. Hope it’s more organized esp we were supposed to be gifted with a starter pack and this should be placed next to the fireplace. Location is great and just a few mins drive to the Katoomba street for shopping and meals. easy accessible to the scenic lookout etc

we had forgotten that we were traveling with many heavy luggages and therefore it was a hassle carrying them up to the upper deck 😅

The property was in an excellent location with a fabulous view. 20 minutes stiff up/down walk from the Scenic Railway. The property was spacious and the bed linen and towels clean and of good quality. There was plenty of hot water for showers and washing up.

We were disappointed with the cooking facilities ie the oven which potentially catered for 11 occupants although we were only 7. Especially as I had double checked the cooking facilities in advance for a celebratory family roast dinner. The oven took far too long to heat and went off and did not heat evenly. 4 hours for a roast. We had to cook half in the BBQ and juggle the accompanying dishes. The hob rings kept self extinguishing if not watched. The pots, pans and utensils were elderly and need updating. If the property is required to be left in a pristine condition better cleaning materials should be provided.

Oven rakes fell out when moved, and the stove wouldn't start. The air conditioning want working. Not sure if it was user error or there is a problem as we only tried to turn it on and nothing else. We provided feed back about this.

Loved the views, although the cold wind did not allow us to take advantage of the verandah.

The property was in a pristine location with a spectacular view. The owners were very courteous in supplying a generous amount of firewood, bathroom, laundry and kitchen amenities. The linen and towels were of high quality and all appliances were exceptional including the WiFi. I was astounded at the vast variety of games and toys available to entertain my children. The property is within close proximity of main attractions, cafes & grocery stores. We were also very blessed to witness the snow on our last night. I would highly recommend Treetops to large families or groups looking for a beautiful getaway. It is also important to note the neighbours were very friendly and respectful, so it helps to be the same 😁
