Alsarmadi Desert Camp

A wonderful place, the view is amazing, the tents are comfortable and nicely furnished. The crew is friendly and food is very good. Overall a great experience, we loved the peacefulness here.

Activities are pretty expensive. Toilet was leaking in one of the rooms.

Le tende sono fantastiche. Se (come noi) siete preoccupati per il freddo di notte a dicembre / gennaio, sappiate che conservano molto bene il calore del giorno, anche in presenza di vento freddo: nessun problema! E anche l’assenza del bagno in camera non è assolutamente un disagio.

Nulla. Specifico solo (ma già lo sapevo prima di prenotare) che, per gli astrofili, è preferibile una location profondamente nel deserto, più lontano dall’inquinamento luminoso degli insediamenti abitati che si trovano subito a nord del campo e che sono anche visibili all’orizzonte se si guarda in quella direzione da certi punti del campo — il che rompe un pochino l’atmosfera magica di isolamento che ci si aspetta da una giornata nel deserto… Posto che è sufficiente fare due passi fuori dal campo tra le dune, verso sud, per nascondere dietro l’orizzonte la vista dei paesini più vicini.

The welcoming staff and desert charm captured our hearts. The setting out in the dunes is spectacular for sunsets, star watching and the feeling of desert life. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well as informative to Omani customs. We rode camels, fed baby goats, made bread in the fire and relaxed in the Bedouin style tents. The sleeping tents were decorated with carpets and fabrics with furniture and very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were clean and had hot water. Everything in the camp is brought in… water, solar electricity etc. but the food was delicious and plentiful and there was even charging stations and WiFi available. We enjoyed our time, the activities and friendly staff.

We had no complaints.

De gastvrijheid en moeite die er voor je werd gedaan. Je voelt je meer dan welkom! Het is een magische plek om te verblijven zo onder de sterrenhemel en de mooiste zonsop- en ondergangen die je maar kunt wensen. We hebben ook heerlijk gegeten!

Niets. Ik had wel een waterkoker op de kamer gewild om een kop koffie te zetten;)

Für ein Zelt war es überragend, Gastfreundschaft wird hier hoch geschrieben, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sonnenuntergang und -aufgang waren fantastisch.

Zum Sterne guggen hätte es noch dunkler sein können.

Amazing spot in the desert surrounded by beautiful sand dunes. The camp itself is the perfect size (not too big not too small) to make the experience even more special. Tents are traditionnal and very comfy with great beds and a little bathroom. All staff is really nice and helpful. We made traditionnal bread and had a lovely dinner in the main area. Activities were fully organized by the camp before arrival. Thank you Alfarooq for making it so easy and enjoyable!! Full transfer from Muscat with a comfortable car and very reliable driver. Camel riding on the dunes Sand sliding Half day excursion in the desert with dune bashing and great driver ! We also enjoyed a very nice lunch under a tree in the desert with falafel rolls, fresh fruit and a plain option for kids with cheese. We absolutely loved our stay and we highly recommend AlSamardi Camp
