Rancho Santana

I had a great time in Rancho Santana. I went with my entire extended family over the holidays, and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend surfing, and the ocean was very clean and warm. I was blown away the natural beauty of the resort, from the river and beach to the lush forests. I also loved the free breakfast, and all of the food was delicious. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean and had lots of natural light. I was also there over New Year's Eve, and the part was spectacular. There were fireworks, and an insane amount of amazing food. There was also a great DJ, who also gave me a tour of my condo when I first arrived. However, the highlight of my trip was the hospitality and kindness of the staff, specifically Eddy. He was always very kind, and guided my monkey tour and my family's campfire. He was always very funny and we even got some selfies together. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife, and knew the answer to almost all of my questions. In recap, I had a wonderful time at the resort, and the wonderful families and staff made it a truly unforgettable experience. One comment -- there were a lot of bees by the flowering bushes near the main pool, you might want to check that out.

Great experience people. We were totally spoiled. After we landed in Niagara, we were picked up and whisk away to Rancho Santana. The house is gorgeous. We were each comfortable in our suites. The full-time chef cooked great meals and was sensitive to what we like and or could not eat. Jonathan and Jeremy were wonderful butlers attending to our every need. Ricardo was her full-time driver and spoiled us by taking us wherever we want to go plus giving us a bit of history and local culture. The first day he drove me to each of the beaches and the ranch, which I highly recommend so you get a deal for the area. The spa is lovely. I had a pedicure Tai massage and stone massage. All were lovely. Massages were in thatch huts. Pilates and yoga were on a beautiful platform that overlooked the ocean. Fabulous. The food in the restaurant was also good. Enjoy the quiet evening in front of the campfire. We had a great pool at our house, but there were also two pools at the resort when we went a change of view. Any other location you can always watch the surfers and the fisherman. I highly recommend climbing the mountain. Well worth the adventure for those who are relatively fit I am 67 years old and was able to Climb it without too much trouble. I went horseback riding on the beach. We also took the day trip to Granada and went zip lining. Once more, we were totally spoiled. There were three people helping the two of us zip line hand, making sure we were safe. We chose Rancho Santana based on its reputation and paid peak holiday rates expecting a high level of hospitality. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of that standard. During dinner, our family was seated and ordered first, yet multiple tables that arrived after us were served before us. We were ultimately served last, with no explanation or acknowledgment. On another day, we were seated at a beach restaurant on property and then told after several minutes that we had to get up and leave due to an internal issue, with little concern for how uncomfortable that was for us as guests. More concerning, one evening we discovered a significant number of dead mosquitoes on the bed, pillows, and underneath them, apparently coming from the AC unit. Housekeeping replaced the linens, but the unit itself was not addressed. This raised serious hygiene concerns. We raised these issues calmly and in person with management, including Angie, the front desk manager. While she acknowledged our concerns and stated they were taken seriously, the resolution offered did not meaningfully address the experience or reflect the premium pricing we paid. What was described as “service recovery” ultimately felt transactional rather than guest-focused. Rancho Santana is a beautiful property, but beauty alone does not make a world-class experience. Service consistency, guest care, and basic cleanliness matter just as much — and in our case, those elements were disappointing.

A beautiful place for all ages. There was something for everyone. Activities were fantastic, food was delicious, and accomodation was lovely.

Our family recently returned from a vacation that was truly exceptional in every way. The level of service provided by the entire team was outstanding, making our stay effortless and memorable. From the moment we arrived, the concierge went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met. Their support allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our time together. The dining experience was a highlight of the trip, thanks to the incredibly talented and inventive chef. Each meal was an accomplishment, featuring fresh, local ingredients prepared with creativity and flair. . What really set this trip apart was the friendliness and attention from the entire team. Every staff member we encountered was cheerful, helpful, and clearly dedicated to providing an amazing experience for their guests. We felt genuinely cared for and valued as a family. We cannot recommend this destination enough- the natural beauty of the land, sea and sky, the comfort and beauty of the villa… everything was truly amazing.

There are wonderful facilities. Lots of great activities. The staff are all well trained and friendly. Jose Alcoser made our stay perfect. He was always available and worked hard to enable everyone in our party to enjoy a special time. We enjoyed every aspect of Rancho and will highly recommend it to our friends

Riding at Rancho Santana was truly life-changing for me. After a serious accident five years ago where I broke three ribs, I carried a lot of fear with me. Januar and Lorenzo supported me with patience, skill, and genuine care, helping me rebuild my confidence step by step. I was lucky enough to have three incredible rides on Señorita, an absolutely amazing mare—calm, responsive, and full of heart. This experience reminded me why I love riding so much. I hope to return soon and do it all over again. It was, simply put, unforgettable.

Arrived from Philly suburbs Dec. 29th with a warm welcome from the entire staff at the Villa: Alma Del Mar. We were the 1st rental ever for this exclusive beach property consisting of all high end / first class amenities. Our stay will end January 4th so we enjoy the New Year's festivities which is Hugh for Nicaraguan culture. This review is based on just two days experience. The food, the staff, which I will list below was/is 2nd to none. The staff which I cannot express my sincere gratitude is: Johnny Terry GM/ Butler Jader Morago, Chef extraordinare Lesby Amador, Asst. Chef Virginia Orlando, Housekeeping. Last, but not least, Byron, our chauffeur An amazing, well coordinated Team! Can't do enough for us. We were given their cell phone contact information so they were always available to provide their 1st class service. The horses were stunning and incredibly well taken care of, reflecting the love and dedication of the staff. Our guide, Janero, was nothing short of fantastic—a true gem who made the ride even more enjoyable! Riding along the beach and playing with these beautiful horses was the highlight of my year! As a cowgirl, I appreciated how they catered to my skills, ensuring an exhilarating ride. If you're looking for a breathtaking adventure, don’t miss this opportunity!
