"Do NOT stay Here!"

2.0

IIf you are down and out and have nowhere to stay, do so in you car. Sleep under a box or freeze outside. This place is the last you should think of after scratching all the last resort places you should consider. Do you get it, IT IS A DUMPSTER straight up garbage. Now, the explanation and the long version for those who may prefer it. After being recently transferred to Columbia for work I needed a place to stay for 14 days. Work will cover the cost for that time while a permanent solution is being sorted. Online the place looks decent, they've done a good job of projecting a certain level of cleanliness and a commitment to customer service. Let's be clear, neither are existence. And to be fair this review is for the location at Two Notch in Columbia, South Carolina. Right off the bat I will tell you that there are 16 bites on my body that came from InTown Suites. I'm covered in Calydril lotion so there are pink dots covering the effected areas. My kids are playing connect the dots on me. This was the parting gift and I didn't realize it till afterwards. I'll live, but really? I would be irate if my kids and wife had stayed there. That's not even what drove me out the door, the following is. Booked a week stay and payed in advanced. They have you look at the place before paying. It was bad, but I'm a working dude and slept in the field during the Army days as well as some crap places while back-packing overseas in Europe and Central America. So InTown deserved a shot in my ridiculously mistaken initial opinion. After all, I was really there just to sleep while a permanent place was found. Checked in on a Saturday and by Tuesday the water was no longer working. There was no way to take a shower. I called the front desk, the after hours on-site attendant and a corporate number. The first referred the caller to the later two. Both were rude, incapable and perhaps never been shown what empathy is nor one strand of customer service in their repertoire or toolbox. The on-site attendant couldn't be bothered with my questions as they were overwhelmed with the problem, couldn't even give me an update, was freaking out, and rude. She hung up on my butt. The corporate number routed me to someone ready to take payment for the reservation. He assured me someone would help and transferred me to another line, where no one answered. I left a message with a phone number and email. It's now the following Saturday and no word from anyone. Merry Christmas by the way. Oh yeah, Santa just came in the house and he remembered to go write this up while everyone is sleeping. So I ended up leaving InTown with four days pre-paid and simply went to another hotel. It was more expensive and totally worth it. As it stands on top of everything I got ripped off as I haven't really pursued a pro-rated return. I may in time, but I'm getting reimbursed so it doesn't hurt as much. I don’t want my company getting ripped off either, but one thing at a time right. I surely however do not want others to have to go through this and will eventually get on them in attempts for them to rectify the issue going forward. It's all about owning up to problems, addressing them and getting better. In order to do so an opportunity must be presented. As it stands however, I'm scratching my bites like a MF. Other issues included the refrigerator in my room was rusted out. The bathroom shower rod was hanging by a couple of screws, wobbling. The shower liner had a crack along the side from the top to the bottom. This will cause water damage, but no my lane. The smell was that of a room which had been the victim of poor circulation and a bit moldy. My gut suggested not to stay, but I was like F it, I'm in. After driving from Georgia, I merely wanted to eat and go to sleep. And so I gave it a shot. Don't you go and do it. You've been warned. There are plenty options up and down the Two-Notch Road. Go up to the next intersection and there is another option as well. Good luck in your travel and have a fantastic 2019, crazy right 2019!

"Think of it as a crash pad"

6.0

This is not a hotel; it's a crash pad, or like a 1000 baht room in Bangkok. My wife and I stayed two weeks while looking for a home to buy in Columbia, SC. We wanted to cook our own meals and this place had a "kitchen." It's run down, shabby rooms but habitable. It has water, electricity, A/C a bed, shower, full fridge, limited cable TV, wifi and two burners. Customer service is curt but efficient. That was the good news, here's the bad news: no coffee maker, cookware, dishes, silverware (same as Value Place.) They change the sheets once a week and never change the towels. There's a $50 refundable room deposit. It's more of a couch surf than a hotel stay. There are people living there and the smell coming out of 229 was unbelievably bad. We paid about $35 a night with tax, weekly rate. For a lot more ($90-140 a night), we could have stayed at better extended stay hotels. If you're on a budget and plan to stay a week or two, it will do just fine as a crash pad. If you want a hotel be prepared to spend more elsewhere.

"Don't stay here"

2.0

This is a roach motel. The room is dirty and after complaining I was told I could be moved to the 3rd floor but I have 2 kids including a infant and I felt like this was punishment for me complaining. Please go somewhere else. Don't stay here. It's a dump.

"Disaster"

2.0

No words can describe this horrible location. Needed a place to stay for 2 weeks while waiting to move into new home. 1st - arrived before 4pm to check in and no one was there. A lady walked out of the office after 10 min and informed me that employee who was supposed to be working was on break. Informed her I arrived before 4pm as per website and was told not her problem. She called employee who was in fact at other location not break. 2nd - the guy smoking a joint in the stairwell was classy 3rd - the room was clean but reaked of smoke. No way that smell will ever be taken out of room. After this decided to not stay. Company should be ashamed of this location.
