"Exceptional"

10.0

Beautiful quiet location in small village by a rushing glacier river and easy walk to the village and fjord. Very pretty room, with waterfall view, plus pleasant breakfast. Dinner was fine. There are lovey grounds around (if it weren't pouring rain) to enjoy, with outdoor seating. There was not staff at the desk, at check in or check out, and I assume they are short handed. Everyone was gracious.

"A perfect stay"

10.0

Everything you expect from a stay by the fjord is fulfilled at Petrines. Beautiful scenery, delightful interiors, tasteful food and welcoming staff. Comfortable beds and very quiet surroundings. This is a perfect stay-over especially if you don’t want to do both Trollstigen and the Eagle Road in one day (which in my opinion is too much). There’s also a small beach, just a few minutes walk across the road, where we had a swim and went paddleboarding. We will return, for sure!

"Peaceful recovery"

10.0

Wonderful hotel in a very peaceful valley. The food is excellent and the service feels like being with friends. The valley is a very natural environment, with beautiful waterfalls, rivers, mountains and endless forrests. Great place for a longer stay.

"A cozy, quiet, charming place to stay"

10.0

The guesthouse has two rooms on the ground floor, and the rest of the rooms on the second floor. On the first floor the restaurant/breakfast area is located. All the rooms are designed by a Norwegian textile designer, and it gives them a very cozy feel. We got room number 5, an extra large room with a view to the fjord. It also had a separate small bed for a child/small person, separated from the rest of the room by a small step. Very nice if you travel with a child. There is a a water boiler in the hall, for coffee and tea. A buffet style breakfast with local jams and different spreads was very good. You will be asked to sign up for dinner, and this is a very good idea. We had a great 3 course menu, with two different options for each course. We also enjoyed great local cider and beer with the meal.

"Excellent camping site!"

10.0

Behind the beautiful hotel at the great location there is a plain field with the regular norwegian caravans with their hideous annexes, but that does not matter: the showers and toilets are very clean, the field is perfect and the walk to the water is just a couple of minutes - perfect break !

"Chefs day off."

4.0

We stayed here for the food reviews on TripAdvisor. The room and location were very nice as we like out of the way places. The breakfast had a great selection and it was very tasty. We had dinner and were very disappointed. The soup was very nice but the main course was tasteless slop called lamb stew. We figured it must have been the chefs day off as it was terrible. It’s not cheap so we expected more. Poor form.

"Local hotel done right"

10.0

I booked this place based on a recommendation from a friend, and will pass the recommendation on as we really enjoyed our stay. We really liked the quiet and beautiful location in the tiny village of Norddal, a quick drive from the tourist chaos that is Geiranger. The hotel is traditional and very welcoming for all guests with spacious rooms and comfortable beds nice. The atmosphere is very relaxed with a pleasant staff always willing to assist you, albeit young and inexperienced at times. The set 3 course dinner comes with a strong recommendation, with classic family style food and generous portions. Breakfast was also very good. We enjoyed our brief stay very much and I would give this place a strong recommendation.

"Beautiful location, great breakfast"

8.0

The guesthouse and the apartments are very comfortable and clean. They are set right by the river and you can easily spend an hour or two just soaking the ambience in. Definitely a great spot from where you can explore the region around Geiranger. The guesthouse set Retirement goals for those who dream of running their own place

"Culinary surprise in tiny village"

8.0

This lovely hotel was booked for me by Norway Adventures so I had little expectation. However when dinner was served it became clear that it takes itself quite serious from a cooking perspective. I loved the food and with a nice bottle of wine to wash down the klipfish I was in post heavy day heaven. A real recommendation if you want a place away from it all but you're not willing to compromise on quality food !
