Hotel-Restaurant Ketterer am Kurgarten

Centrally located with plenty of on street parking. Nice functional rooms with nice views of village. For price paid it was good value. Rooms are not the most modern but are clean and pleasant. Good bathrooms. Staff left at 8pm so not 24hr reception. A few restaurants nearby but town was very quiet probably due to COVID

Ok hotel, stort værelse men lidt gammelt og umoderne. Mangler aircondision. Byen er lidt kedelig og restauranterne lukker tideligt. Fint at der er gratis adgang til vandfaldet.

Family of 3 staying overnight in the Black Forest. Our room was a family room on the third floor- note there are no elevators but we were fine. Room was a good size with 2 twins pushed together for my husband and I but it had the thing in the middle so you don’t fall in between and a twin for our daughter. There was still room for a nice sitting area wardrobe and dresser. Wonderful view of the town and the bed was very comfortable. Minuses: windows don’t ventilate, shower was warm but not hot and while the hotel site says parking available it is street parking. Because the hotel is across from one of the entrances to the waterfall it took awhile for a space to open up. Pluses: 2 minute walk to the falls and town area and entrance fee to the falls is covered in the room price. Being here off season meant there were not a lot of options for dinner so we ate at the restaurant in the lobby. Dinner was quite good although they were out of several items on the menu.

They were extremely unpolite with us because of the children. They unkindly send us off the restaurant because we brought to our kids our own yogourth (special baby food) in addition to what we ordered to all of them at the restaurant. We cannot recommend anyone to visit this restaurant. Unacceptable.

I went with my husband and 1 year old boy for coffee and cake. We ordered drinks and then asked for a little cup of milk for the baby. The waitress (in her 30s with glasses in case the director wants to take action)replied that she could not do that because the milk is too expensive and a little cup would be charged 5€ (note that their cappuccino is 2.90€ something). I replied that I just wanted some milk for the baby and she replied that milk is expensive and that this would be the price. We also asked for three forks for the cake and she replied that she could not because she would not have enough forks if she gave more forks to people and that she would have to employ one person more to wash them. Who gives such answers?? This cafe deserves to get a 0 star! Cakes are also tasteless so don’t bother stopping here.

We were a party of five traveling through the Black Forest and we did not make an advanced reservation as we did not know how far we would make it driving in October 2018. We walked in and they were able to accommodate our party of 5 with two rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was great, nearby to the shops in Triberg. The waterfall was about 2 minutes walk away and our hotel stay included entrance to the waterfall as well as breakfast. The breakfast was wonderful, we all very much enjoyed it. We are so glad we found this hotel.
