Bluestone Cottage Launceston

The cottage had been converted and had lost any of the character of the exterior. Very unimpressed that we were asked to put out the bins, full bins (none of our rubbish), down narrow, steep stairs without a handrail. Then to bring them up in the morning. None of us are young and this was quite the challenge. Owner needs to reconsider this expectation. I did text them back but received no reply - very unfriendly.

Beautiful place to stay

Didn’t like the $500 bond we had to pay. Left us short for our holiday and didn’t get it back until we were home. No one else asked for a bond😞

The cottage was awesome, very cute & had all these extra things, lots of kitchen appliances, toasty maker, coffee machine, rice cooker. TV, board games, books, beds were super comfy, bonus heated floor in the bathroom. Location was great very close to shops, supermarket & not too far away from Cataract Gorge & Penny Royal Adventures.

- location was great, walking distance to the city - beds were comfortable for those who prefers soft mattress - home space has sufficient room for a small family (four at max) - keyless access makes for a convenient check in/out - welcome gift (bottle of wine and pack of timtams) was a nice touch. I would recommend offering sample sizes of local products (jam, crackers, cheeses) and a wine to compliment it - washer/dryer available on site - access to plenty of towels, cleaning products, pantry accessories - heated floor in bathroom, nice bath - small outdoor garden and the verandar - great spaces to have a cuppa or have some alone time

- bond was excessive - AC/heater was filthy. Having one main source of heating (located in the living room) was not ideal, as to control temp throughout the house, doors to bedrooms had to be kept open. Air vents available in bedrooms blew cold air only - doors were hard to operate, understand the age of the property but doors opening and securing doors could improve - door stopper in bathroom is very flimsy - no exhaust fan or window available in bathroom

A temporary stay with all the functions such as kitchen & laundry that a family needs with it’s beautiful styling, structure, and layout. Air-con is stable and quiet.

Fixed shower head. Some overdue stuff in the pantry can be removed / replaced.

The location was great and the cottage well appointed

The outside area was disappointing, the gardens are unkempt & we had to clean spider webs that looked as though they had been there for months from the outdoor furniture. At this price point I don’t expect to have to clean up. The requirements for proving ID prior to check in are outrageous. I’ve never had to jump through so many hoops to book a property, treating guests as though they intend to damage a property is not a great way to start a holiday.
