Söðulsholt Cottages

Great location. Very quiet.

This is our absolutely FAVOURITE place in our 2-week trip, the wooden cottage is like a dream-come-true (and you can see in the details that investments were made to build it with quality), with EVERYTHING you need for your stay (incl. dishwasher and washing & drying machines, plastic film, baking paper, alu foil, all kinds of condiments and etc.); the hosts are very friendly and the horse farm is in a great condition (super spacious, clean and well cared); direct mountain view from your bedroom - so mesmerizing; big shower where you can sing and dance (just kidding, very friendly for big sized people); animals on the farm are the best - super lively and cuddly dogs (2 of them) and well-behaved horses full of curiosity to guests. the host encouraged us to go see and pet the animals, which made me very happy <3 this place is really like a paradise for me for holiday!!!

Everything was perfect and I wish I could stay longer here or come back one day! Some tips/heads-up for future guests: There are 2 very enthusiastic and people-loving dogs on the farm, one big and one small and they love to run to people to welcome you. I love dogs and am used to this but watch out if that's not the case, it can be very scary and stress-inducing!!! Sometimes the farm is fenced by ropes (which is used for preventing the horses from escaping I guess) so you cannot easily drive to the cottage - you need to either untie and tie the ropes yourself or ask the host to do it for you. Not the most convenient but I understand this is part of the way of the farm.

Life on a horse farm, with beautiful Icelandic show horses, was terrific. Fully appointed kitchen and outdoor grill meant we could cook up a storm and grill some tender lamb for dinner. The owners were welcoming and the horses were gentle and beautiful. Location was perfect for the Gerduberg basalt cliffs and the gorgeous coastal hike from Arnastapi to Hellnar on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Four adults were comfortable sharing the cottage.

Amazing cottage in a great location on the northern side. It was so clean and comfortable and had all of the amenities you need for your stay. We loved it so so much.

Pillows could be upgraded but not horrible.

Beautiful property close to everything we wanted to visit. Peaceful, private, well maintained! Hope to return in the future!
