B&B Palazzo de "Il Nuovo Duca Minimo"

We booked two apartments. Both of them were very cosy and very well equipped. Rooms are very modern and spacious. Each room has its own bathroom. All rooms were very clean. Host Eleni was gentle and helpful from very beginning. We liked a lot the option of having previously prepared breakfast. We could have a breakfast only at 7 a.m. due to the need of taking bus, so hosts left us everything prepared the day before. I recommend it.

I had difficulty reaching the property, as Google maps tried to direct my car into an area where traffic was restricted to residents (the property itself is in a pedestrianised area), but once I located it, the self-check-in procedure was pretty simple. The room was clean and the bed fairly comfortable, with mattress and pillow protectors. I found a complimentary 500ml bottle of water on the table in my room. The communal room offers a coffee machine (pods provided) and snacks. The private bathroom is immediately adjacent to the room, with toiletries provided. Breakfast is provided by the lady next door and consisted of toast, cheese, ham and salami (I was offered a choice of savoury or sweet) and a large cup of coffee.

Prior to my arrival, I was sent instructions for self-check-in and a series of photographs to show access to the property and parking - I was confused by the photo headed "access from Via Delle Caserme", which suggested that the entrance was there rather than in Via Corfinio, where I eventually found it. The photograph showing the entrance to the parking was useless, as all it showed was the entrance and not its location (apparently off Piazza Unione) and as the parking lot is not shown on Google maps, eventually I opted to park in what I thought was a public disabled space (less than five minutes' walk away), only to return in the morning to discover that it was a private space and I had incurred a fine of €60. My room was upstairs and the spiral staircase has chipboard flooring, which was noisy and made me anxious not to disturb other guests - I needn't have worried, as it transpired that I was the sole guest that night! The wi-fi didn't work at all, I was unable even to find it to connect. Although the property is close to the cathedral, Gabriele d'Annunzio's birthplace museum and the river, the main town and sea front is more than twenty minutes' walk away.

Very nice staff. Free parking very close (less than a minute on foot). Easy check-in and check-out. The location is very nice, between two pedestrian streets with many bars, restaurants and fast-foods. The rooms were very clean. Definetely the best value for the money!
