I was worried that the location would be too far from the center of Mindelo. In fact, it was a short walk both to the center of Mindelo and to the beach, admittedly a walk downhill and then a return uphill. It was even closer to our two favorite music venues: Metalo Fast Good (sic) and Birdie Jazz. Also, Katy and her team were great. Breakfast was an event, eating on a balcony overlooking Mindelo.

Our room had a bathroom with a shower that needed some upgrades. (Why did it seem that the hardware holding the shower heads in all our bathrooms in Cabo Verde needed repair? Maybe, because they were all by the same manufacturer?) Anyway, we got clean and the hot water felt good. Also, the room and bathroom were clean and Katy promised the upgrades as soon as possible.

Friendly staff, good breakfast and big room.

It is quite noisy at night and a fan would have been nice at night since its pretty warm.

I was a bit disappointed by my room which wasn't at all like the photos on Booking.com. As very often when one travels alone you get casted out to the worst room of the hotel. Although it was very clean it was not at all a pleasant room. I would have thought as I stayed 5 nights I would get a better room. I knew I had to share the bathroom but I would expect at least a sink in my room. It had no furniture except for a simple bed, 2 chairs, a tiny bed table and a rack with cloth hangers. Not one decoration, not even a small table. The worst was the view from the window which was to very high and very pink walls so I had to look high up to see the sky. My room was always pink because of it. Some of the rooms have a great view and good windows. I had a very bad mattress but when I told the lady she changed it straight away. She really wants people to be satisfied. So I had a great stay but I would dare to suggest she makes the one person room a bit more cosy, pleasant and comfortable. And she should do something about the shower which was not very good. No pressure, very long time waiting for hot water and no way to hang the shower head so you had to hold it in your hands the whole time.

perfect spot. frendly staff. so clean place overall! enjoyed a lot and I will come again! I truly recommed this place!
