Balfour Arms

The place was really comfortable and very clean. The bed was really warm and great mattress, really superb. We were warned that there could be music during the week beforehand as it is above a pub, but we didn't experience anything. It was really quiet and peaceful. And the cooked breakfast was delicious.

There wasn't anything we were unhappy about. Only thing could be a hairdryer in the room for those to dry their hair with!

Stayed here 19th - 22nd Dec and it was brilliant. Perfect location for us, 15min stroll into the town or you can get the bus from right outside the pub. The staff & the locals were brilliant, we had a really good time and a great laugh. Will definitely be back in the summertime!

Our room was comfy and clean. The location was good for what we needed. The pub was quiet during our stay so we weren’t troubled by noise from the bar below.

Breakfast service was a bit haphazard but perfectly fine once it materialised.

Room was a little smelly don't know why maybe dampness?

Wanted breakfast at 7am but breakfast does not start until 0830 this is too late so had to go without as it was all locked uo

Great spacious pub with great bedrooms

Very dog friendly pub, staff are friendly and the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was cooked to order and even the dog got a treat. Meals served in the pub were good, and ideal location for sidmouth and beyond.

The breakfast coffee machine wasn't the best, we enjoyed our stay but be aware it was above a busy pub.

Rooms a good size and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful and food good quality.

Nice Friendly staff

The breakfast area was not great, the coffee machine didn't work well, The tables were quite worn and what looked like some kind of resin stuck to them and the room just felt a bit worn. There was only once glass available for juices and the cups that were there were way to big for how much coffee did come out of the machine. The basics just need looking at and the breakfast experience would be much better. The food was very enjoyable though !
