The Cock House

The rooms were beautifully decorated and we had everything we needed, including air conditioner. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

The Cock house is not situated in a great area.

The apartment was clean and had comfortable beds and a satisfactory lounge and dining room area.

1. There is a taxi rank across the road which is not disclosed in the Booking.com advertisement. There is noise emanating from the rank on Friday nights and Saturdays. Litter was strewn on the pavement and taxi drivers played music loudly. This rank is adjacent to a busy shopping centre contains. Shoprite, amongst other shops. 2. There are no towel rails and facecloth hooks in the bathroom or shower. 3. The host was not readily contactable when we arrived and several phone calls had to be made by me and the proprietor of the restaurant on the premises of to remind him of our arrival. 4. The kitchen was under-resourced and contained no cutting board, bread knife nor a full compliment of cutlery. No place mats nor scourers etc were present. 5. There is a DSTV decoder, but it is not connected to any service. 6. It was not disclosed on the website that the apartments are on the second storey of the building. Access to the apartments (which ware upstairs) for the elderly and disabled would not be possible. 6. The photographs on the Booking.com website are misleading. They give the impression that each room will have its own kitchenette and bathroom and do not accurately show what the apartment/s consist of.

My family and I arrived late around 11pm, but the property personnel waited to open for us at that hour. Bedrooms and beds were more than enough in terms of number and comfort and we really had a pleasant night with good value for money. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the place is situated in a safe quiet neighbourhood. My family agree that the facility deserves more than 5 star rating.Thank you Cock House.

Lovely gardens. Well renovated rooms which were comfortable and clean

Unfortunately it is across the road from taxi rank, however we didn't hear any noise at night
