Element by Marriott Anaheim Resort Convention Center

The hotel was very good overall and is what we had had hoped. When a problem came up with our reservation before our arrival, Brady was great at sorting the issue out which was really appreciated. We chose the location for the hot breakfast and enjoyed both that and the pool when the temperature hit 32 F during our stay.

No suggestions here.

From the moment we arrived at Element, Anaheim we felt welcome. Brady checked us in and from start to finish took excellent care of us. We looked forward to seeing him each day of our stay. He always greeted us warmly and took time to ask if we needed anything. When the lobby, coffee carafe was empty one evening, he made sure to find some for us. Brady provided the type of customer service that keeps customers coming back.

This is our third time at this property and we have really enjoyed our stays. The rooms smell good and are well appointed. We were in a family suite this time and our only complaint was that the cover on the bunk beds was more like a thin sheet so my kid ended up in bed with us because she felt weird without a blanket on and something with the weight of a sheet. It was quiet, we didn't have a lot of noise from our neighbors at all, the heater worked well, the shower pressure was great, the kitchen was well outfitted, it smelled good, and we drive when we're in town so the proximity to the park was great for us. We will stay at The Element again in the future.

Darah was really awesome. She truly was there for us as guests and not just at the front desk. Her treatment of my family made our Disney trip special from the morning to the evening. She found out we missed cookies and she took the extra time to send some to our room. Her great attitude, helping us with late check out and overall customer service was outstanding.

We stayed here for 4 nights last week. The family rooms are spacious and nicely appointed, however, the mattresses are awful and the room service leaves much to be desired. We got room service twice during our 4 night stay and both times they did not bother to make the upper bunk, and the other beds were also sloppily done. Location wise it wasn't great. It's about a 20 minute walk from the park entrance but there are many other options of hotels in this category with the same distance from the park with many more things offered nearby such as stores and restaurants. There is literally nothing near this hotel. The 5 Freeway is right behind it and otherwise just street and parking lots. We used to stay at the Hyatt Place, which is about a 20 minute walk from the park also, and it offers much more in the vicinity, plus the family room/suites are larger (you have a separate bedroom) and the breakfast is so much better! In fact, the breakfast is what really maximized my disappointment in this hotel. There were very limited food options, they were notoriously out of items, half an hour before breakfast time ended it seemed like they had started to clean things away. Half of the breakfast buffet area had no food out, it literally looked like they were ready to close it up. They brought out 2 cereal bowl size fruit bowls for the entire hotel! It was cheap, lacked options and quantities were limited. No baked goodies such as muffins or similar, hardly any fruit, the eggs were awful, the avocado drenched in lemon juice presumably to avoid browning, the coffee was terrible and usually empty. There was one person working the whole breakfast area and the tables were not cleaned after a party left them. It was pretty disappointing. For the same price, I would recommend staying at the Hyatt House instead. We won't be staying here again, there are much better options in Anaheim near the park.

This is our favorite hotel to stay at. Love the location, the spacious room, the breakfast and the amazing staff. Darah friendly smile welcoming us when we arrive at the front desk, to the kind serving staff when we start of our day at breakfast, to the hospitable housekeeping service. All reasons we continue to stay here. Can’t wait to come back.

I will preface this with pointing out that I am a Marriott elite and, therefore, should be treated better than the average person. The hotel is right by the highway and not really near the convention center. Getting to the entrance can be a little confusing, either by car or foot, because it's on the back side of the building. You also have to pass through a gate if driving in. I was able to check-in early without issue and received a room facing Clementine and the Disneyland employee parking. Despite this being opposite the highway, I still experienced a lot of road noise, day and night. Although the building is relatively new, I still heard a lot of noise from inside. Footsteps and slamming doors were common. I also found the air conditioning system to be surprisingly loud. The bathroom has a shower, not a bathtub. If you have little ones, this may make a difference. I had problems with the bathroom light, which is on a motion detector. While taking a shower, after the glass had completely fogged-up, the light would sometimes turn off. One the other hand, it would also come on due to movement from outside of the bathroom -- even in the dark. I ended up having to close the door to the bathroom at night to stop it. The first day, both the mirror light in the bathroom failed and one of the elevators got stuck. While both were fixed before I returned in the evening, it was a bit unnerving. As with some of the other hotels in the area, housekeeping needs work. The towels were mismatched and dingy. Towel replacement was uneven, with only some of the used towels taken, and only some of the taken towels replaced. The tea was never replaced, and I honestly would not be surprised if it's still missing from that room. Worst of all, the room *gained* random long hairs after cleaning. Gross. The breakfast is pretty good, although I wish they had real plates and silverware. If you go right around when it opens, it doesn't seem to be too crowded. If you're choosing between this hotel and the Residence Inn by the convention center, go with this one. Otherwise, you can find a nicer hotel nearby for less.
