Super Hotel Hirosaki

Small but comfortable. Excellent amenities provided with good breakfast.

Onzen timing not so good for me as it's rotation between men and women.

Their service is really great. There are various welcome drinks until 8 pm like apple juice, alcohols, coffee etc. Breakfast is really great too. Room is quite small but it's functional. Parking is availabke and fee is 500 yen per night. there are many types of pillows for chosing too.

Very comfortable and lots of amenities/benefits included. Great breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Welcome drinks was a very welcome inclusion and a nice touch.

Nice location, close to the station and to the restaurants area. 15 min walk from Hirosaki castle. Very clean, with good breakfast buffet changing every day. Small but nice and refreshing thermal baths. Friendly staff.

Rooms are very small, no closet. Air ventilation runs daily but not very effective. Bathroom in room very small, water from tap tastes not so good.

The hotel chain, Super Hotels, has a great breakfast selection, focused on natural ingredients and local delicacies. Also, when you arrive at this particular chain, they give you a welcome drink at the bar, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. When I was there, they had several different types of local apple juices, a speciality of Aomori prefecture - a bit like wine-tasting but with apple juices! I also liked the fact that there was an onsen bath, although it's a public bath it's well worth it.

The hotel takes about 15-minute walk from Hirosaki station, which isn't particularly far but felt like it when I was carrying 2 x large suitcases in heavy rain. The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side but definitely adequate for one person to stay in. There is only one onsen downstairs, which has certain hours for men and women. There were more hours in the day men could use the bath than women, which felt a little odd but it was ok for the most part.
