Bard Cottage

The Living room, kitchen area suited us well and the hot tub was brilliant> The location was good for exploring the Golden Circle and Reykjavik was under an hour away by car.

The access road from Route 1 was in very poor condition and is quite long so care had to be taken. The steps to the front door had decayed and became damaged at the beginning of our stay but fortunately there were alternatives.

The hot tub was wonderful. Our hosts were thoughtful and paid attention to detail.

The shower was weak and needs updating.

Property very tired looking and old bathroom; loft bedroom sealed off and not enough towel’s for a 4 day stay as only 1 hand towel between 2 people, 1 hot tub towel and 1 large towel each.

Bard Cottage has spoiled me for the rest of my trip - it‘s the coziest cabin one could imagine. Surrounded by trees and a little garden it is completely secluded and a perfect get-away. Just a 10min drive from Borgarnes makes it perfect to both exploring the region and Snæfellsness peninsula as well as a stop before heading north or westwards. It comes with a perfectly and fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and a private hot tub. Furthermore it comes with all the little details that add up to a wholesome experience and make it special - a cozy sitting area and huge window front to observe the outside world and maybe Auroras while being all warm and tucked inside. There’s a Yoga mat for use, books, a TV - in short, Bard Cottage really feels like a home away. :) The hosts provided me with lots of valuable tips, where always reachable and provided me with great solution during the coldwave that hit during my stay. 100% recommend to stay, I‘ll definitely come back :)

Everything about the place was perfect.

Perfect place to relax after day of exploring. Beautiful, comfortable and cosy house, great attention to details. Nice sorroundings, house is in a small forrest with little lake and mountain views behind. We especially loved hot tube on the deck. Wonderful and caring hosts are always ready to help and provide advice. We highly recomnend Bard cottage to other travellers.

If you are looking for a cottage that feels like your own holiday home then this is it, Bard was warm, cosy, well eqipped, quiet and centrally located to many attractions. The hosts were lovely and had great tourist information wriiten down in the cottage and were very responsive on email. We loved our stayed and highly recommend Bard Cottage.
