Mad River Lodge

What a beautiful area. We stayed during the'leaf peepers' season. Few guests. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was 2 bedrooms, a large bath, a full kitchen with dining area and large tv. and and huge sofa. Great place for hunters or skiers. Family friendly.

No complaints for facility. It's a drive into town for dining or food. But the drive was beautiful!

The place was right by a scenic spot looking towards a mountain view. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the owner, John, very welcoming, friendly, and personable. This place is a "definitely coming back" "must stay" spot if you want to be close to everything.

Driving up to the property was beautiful , the landscaping was very nice. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. The interior shared space on the second floor offered snacks & drinks plus a nice seating area to relax in. Our room was nice and comfortable. We felt safe too. There was an entry door plus a separate door to our room. We loved Adirondack chairs that overlooked the road, we sat there at dusk just taking in the beautiful scenery and cool crisp air. I stayed in contact with the Innkeeper via text and he was very quick to respond. We will definitely come back again. This was the first time we have visited Vermont (from Texas) and it was amazing. We only stayed one night because we were trying to see as much of Vermont in a few days as possible but next time we will stay longer.

You won’t find a better place near a restaurant, with lots more restaurants just a mile or 2 further. Staff is EXCELLENT! Thank you John and Angel. Beds are comfy, big kitchen area and huge sectional that can sleep 2 adults easily. Grocery store near by, breakfast places and coffee shops and the mountain to ski if you’re into that. We just enjoyed the area with our family.

I liked the location and room.

The only thing I did not like was the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbor talking. Clean

Overall good stay. If you’re looking for a place to get clean and sleep this was a good option. Everything was very smooth and the room was very clean. Beds were comfortable and firm. Unfortunately they only have one washer dryer set and the hours of operation were 9am to 9pm. So we weren’t able to use them in time.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights when we came to Vermont to support a friend's fundraiser. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The common area was inviting and clean. I really appreciated how the key code for the rooms was set, because it made it easy to remember. If I have any criticism, it would be some guests were not respectful of the quiet hours notice in the common area. Some doors banging and loud voices briefly around midnight one night. But that isn't the Lodge's fault necessarily, just some guests who were not very aware. I'm sure that if the Lodge gets a full time, on site caretaker, those quiet hours will be more enforced. Overall, this was a really nice place and one I would recommend.

It was a weary day driving. I found The Mad River Inn on line. Surprising nice mountain drive. An Adventure. The room was efficient and cozy. Super clean. All the amenities you need. Great coffee in the morning. And breakfast snacks for a buck. Apparently skiing as well. Should be on my list for winter. Very low key check in and out. The Innkeepers are friendly and acconmodatig.
