Mad River Lodge

Stayed for a few days while repairs are done in my condo.

This dump deserves 0 stars. To say that this MOTEL was a disappointment is a HUGE understatement. With being only 10 minutes away I received a text, not even a phone call to notify me that my room would not be ready on time and that it would be another hour until it would be ready due to “staffing issues”. To run a business this way is really despicable. The Manager couldn’t even take the time to pick up the phone to explain. When I pressed him via text message, I was told that they had an unexpected visit from Homeland Security to interview the housekeeper to make sure she was not working illegally and that was why they were unable to have our room ready on time.That was a bit strange. When the room finally was ready I was truly taken aback to see the room that we were given. It was NOTHING that we expected, nothing like the pictures that were represented on the website, the bed was awful, there was no dresser, the smell of cleaning supplies was so overpowering it gave me a headache, I found hair in the bed and there was a broom and dustpan left in the corner of the room. After attempting to find the manager, there was no one at the front desk. There was a note stating that they had stepped away and to call if we needed assistance. I called, but there was no answer, so I left a message. Someone called me back (I assumed it was the manager or owner) and he was rude and unwilling to work with me as far as a refund goes. When we decided we did not want to even spend one night I reached out to the manager once again to let him know we were leaving and that I expected to discuss getting a full refund otherwise I would be leaving “scathing” reviews on various sites. His response was, “please leave whatever review you wish”. And then he said, “I wish you would find some happiness in your life”. How dare you speak to me that way. Great job running your business and doing what you can to keep your customers happy. Clearly making money is your main concern rather than taking care of your customers. Your place is overpriced (as it looks worse than a Motel 8), you advertise falsely, leading people to believe that they are getting a NICE room (for $185/night it is absolutely despicable that this is what a customer is expected to stay in). I will continue to review this motel on any and every website I can and I hope everyone takes the time to read it. You should be ashamed of yourself and how you run your business. This place is DISGUSTING. DO NOT stay here.

Great location, nice private space with comfy bed and clean areas

I think this place should think about adding a little restaurant or bar area! Would be super great for their business but no complaints with the facilities.

Belle endroit unique et récent. Seuls points négatifs sont l’insonorisation qui laisse à désirer et le manque d’une smart tv. Mais je n’hésiterai pas à y retourner à mon prochain séjour à Sugarbush!
