Monte Uzulu

Very beautiful and comfy hotel. Everything was perfect! We felt like at home. Location is great, 3 minutes away from the beach. Bars and restaurants are around the corner. Breakfast at the hotel is delicious. We will for sure come back soon!

We loved the hospitality of our host, the breakfast every morning was outstanding and the location was perfect. We will definitely return. It was also easy for non Spanish speaking tourists to navigate. Very walkable to beach, restaurants and shopping

Breakfast was fantastic, the decor is amazing and very tasteful, and the host was exceptionally friendly and helpful!

It’s a perfect place, but the steps could be an issue after a drink, if you’re old or unfit, or if it’s really dark! But that’s the trade off to stay in the hills and feel like you’re in a jungle

Everything was perfect, we didn't want to leave! We had the most amazing four night stay at Monte Uzulu. Alan and Ricardo made us feel so welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. San Augustinilo is a beautiful little town, and Monte Uzulu is tucked just away from the main street - close enough that you can pop down to the beach or lovely nearby restaurants within just a few minutes, but quiet and secluded enough that you can truly relax. We loved the morning breakfasts, relaxing on the balcony, and just generally all of the beautiful touches in the room. Highly highly highly recommend, we dream of coming back.

It was perfect - beautifully designed, tranquil, elegant, with wonderful host Allan to tend to our every whim. Breakfast was delicious, the showers were perfect, secluded, beautiful garden, romantic, comfortable, beautiful sea views with sunset from our balcony and the sound of crashing waves at night. Our favourite stay by far during our month long travels through Mexico. Short walk to a quiet beach and tucked away from the main strip of Mazunte but still within walking distance. Get the sea view room, you won’t regret it.

I almost don’t want to leave a review because this place feels like a hidden gem worth keeping secret. Staying here truly feels like being a guest in a friend’s home. From the moment we arrived, the charming owner greeted us at the curb, warmly welcomed us, and gave us a wonderful introduction to the area, instantly making us feel at ease. The rooms, perched high on the hill with breathtaking ocean views, feel like a private sanctuary. Falling asleep with the windows open to the soothing sounds of the jungle and distant waves is pure magic. Each morning began with a simple yet delicious breakfast, setting the perfect tone for a day of exploring the town. It’s not a luxury hotel in the traditional sense, but the tranquil simplicity, location, and staff makes it an enriching experience of its own. Stay here before Saint Augustinillo becomes the next Tulum ;)

Monte Uzulu Boutique Hotel is a truly exceptional place to stay. The rooms are beautifully designed with a perfect balance of modern comfort and natural elements, offering a serene and stylish atmosphere. We had an amazing view of the trees and ocean from our second floor room. The hotel’s location is right in the middle of town, yet quiet and peaceful, and just a short walk to the most stunning San Agustinillo beach. Elvia, the manager was super friendly, helpful and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived!

I did not mind this, but be aware there are a few steps to get to the rooms.
