Back Bay Inn

This is a really amazing location.

in a nice location on Morro Bay, away from the center of the town, but no real beach area to walk closeby. Friendly staff at greeting and check out. Very dog welcoming.

The "garden" 2 room king was on a parking lot, cinder block, no cross ventilation, only decaf coffee in Keurig, the smaller room had a too soft bed. For a hotel rated excellent, our room was comparable to a just average motel. Very disappointing for us. We saw there were maybe better rooms--at least they weren't on a parking lot with our car 2 feet from the door. They faced the bay. But our room was a big letdown.

Great view of the bay from the room. Room was just the right size. Kruge in the room. Coffee shop on site for breakfast. Several smaller restaurants in the area and a small liquor store for odds and ends. Calm and quiet area. Parking not that great.

We had such a wonderful time at Back Bay Inn! The bungalow was cozy, private, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We loved how dog-friendly the property was, it made the trip so much easier and more enjoyable. Buffy our dachshund loved it. Check-in was a breeze, and everything felt smooth and stress-free from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful stay with comfort and charm! We will be back!

The inn is located nice. The lady in office that greeted us was very informative and helpful. They had a wine reception around 4:30 which was a nice touch. My reason for a 3 is the room needed some updating and was a basic motel room. They said garden room which was a parking lot. I think the rooms in the main bldg are probably much nicer. Spend the extra money.

The “garden view” rooms look upon cars and a small parking lot with the garden beyond so that was not entirely honest. I can appreciate we are in a quiet country area but the tiny shower stall, tiny bathroom sink, and single narrow glass shelf (only wide enough for a tube of toothpaste) did not “read” as the 3.5 star hotel it claims to be. The location however is gorgeous but it is not a 3.5 star hotel. It also smelled so strongly of bleach when we arrived we had to open all the windows and the door. Again, a very low budget experience.
