would have preferred breakfast in the restaurant as opposed to being provided in a Basket, although fairly late in the first day. The shower was extremely small but at least a walk-in shower.

The location is ideal for where we want to visit. The meal in the restaurant was lovely. The breakfast hamper, delivered outside our door both mornings, provided a great selection of continental style food. The 10% discount was a nice gesture.

Unfortunately, we found the room even more 'tired' than last time. Many of the issues I'm about to raise have been left on reviews, but nothing has been addressed. The shower was scorching and leaking around the controls, making it impossible to adjust the temperature. The ceiling above the shower had black mould. Where there was once a shelf in the shower room, there were just the two brackets left; one with the screw still in it. At eye level, this could have caused injury The tiles in the toilet were blown with a huge chunk missing. The small window in the toilet was rusted and filthy. The windows in the main room were rotted with non-existent sills. The flap on the air con unit was hanging. After a very uncomfortable 2 nights, I made the mistake of checking out the mattress-it was totally discoloured and VERY well worn/old. In desperate need of replacing! One wardrobe door was crudely screwed in an attempt to secure it. We have previously stayed in this room, the one behind the wooden door, plus we checked out the Captain's Suit as the door was open. In summary, the rooms are all in desperate need of refurbishing. There are also safety concerns regarding the electrics. Outside, the appearance left a lot to be desired, with walls crumbling, rotten woodwork, and everywhere generally in need of a good tidy up.

The room was huge and very clean and tidy and the breakfast that was delivered was fantastic

The breakfasts were a very pleasant surprise. We looked forward to them being delivered to our door each morning. Attention to detail and quality produce made the hampers very special.

A great stay & location, right opposite the beach! The inn is very cosy with a good sized beer garden and great food with a wide range of choice. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We stayed one night here and our room was fabulous! We stayed in The Captains room which was huge and had a bathroom with separate bath/ shower. Lots of quirky little touches in the room. It has its own separate entrance with raised terrace & amazing views of the countyside. Especially loved the breakfast hamper, a really lovely idea with lots of tasty treats inside!

The garden and the building on the outside are looking very tired and could definitely do with a freshen up, but overall, a really lovely stay!
