Albergo San Michele

Great location on the Via Francigena. Very nice room, interestingly laid out. Outstanding bathtub - huge. The restaurant is really first rate; we had one of the best meals we’ve had this trip. Excellent breakfast.

We requested a quiet room, but one we were given was quite noisy though there were inside rooms available which would have been quieter. We booked because there is a restaurant, but after booking were informed the restaurant is closed on Sunday nights - why is this not stated in the booking info? We asked for and were offered breakfast, but when we arrived were told there was no breakfast and the previous offer was ‘a mistake’. The wifi didn’t work and the manager seemed uninterested in resolving the problem with their router. Overall, very disappointing and not consistent with previous reviews.

Inner courtyard gives a slight prison vibe especially when you are locked in during the evening when the main entrance/exit is closed.

Small room with small windows. Breakfast was basic.
